Firstly, they had messed up the booking and had cancelled our appointment even though we replied to their confirmation email the day earlier! There were no cafe facilities at all which was surprising as we would have stayed longer if there were. The treatments were good and the staff were nice. It was more the mess ups with the booking and the lack of cafe facilities that were disappointing. All in all it was ok, but for £100 for two of us, we were expecting something pretty great. I would not go back.
dont go to this place in manchester we were just told to rebook when we turned up for a relaxing spa day . First there is no parking. we asked at the desk where we could park and were sent to parking, we walked back to venue to be told we were too late for treatment and no other treatments were available. so much for advertising relaxing in the sauna being met by staff who will offer and explain all services. We were 18 minutes past app time and even though we had arrived sooner than this and asked for help with parking we were treated as if we didnt matter after travelling 50miles to get there we were not offered any other service till we asked. By which time none of us wanted to stay in the place for anything. So if you get a gift for a spa day at bannatyne spas. Dont even think about quay st. in manchester. We are writing to trading standards. Disgusted.
We both had a great time. The staff were professional, the atmosphere was great and the spa was nice too. I loved the fact that we could have a massage in the same room at the same time. We had a very relaxing time.
Read previous reviews and was a little worried about coming here for a Spa day with my friend, Mum & sister. We knew from the other reviews that there weren't any refreshment facilities so we were quite happy to get lunch at the Starbucks across the road. When I emailed the club about times of classes, I received a very nice welcome reply which was reassuring. And when we turned up on the day, the staff were friendly & helpful. The facilities were better than I expected with a good sized pool, 2 jacuzzis, steam room & sauna. The gym overlooks the pool and there is a stained glass ceiling over the pool, which I thought added to the Victorian feel of the building. The treatments were great - we had a neck, shoulder & back massage as well as a scalp massage - i felt really good afterwards. There were 2 things that weren't so great e.g. No private changing cubicles for those of us that don't do communal changing rooms and having to hire towels, robes & slippers - have been to the Marriott & they don't charge for these things. But overall we had a really good time & would go back again.
Don't go!! ,Changing rooms dirty, robes old & scruffy. No facilities to put your robe whilst in pool. only two beds at side of pool,no where to sit and relax. It states cafe & food available, when we went this was a coffee machine which you had to pay for, and we had to get dressed and go across the road to Tesco to buy a sandwhich. Have been to many spa days over the years, this was the WORST EVER!!!
