A good experience. The therapist was welcoming and the venue was appealing. The downside is that the tan did not last as long as other tans I have had. The tan is the venues own and not the common 'sienna'.
I bought a facial package for me and my boyfriend to go, as a Christmas present. Aftering reading these reviews, I had hoped they had sorted out the spa, but I was very wrong. Unfortunatley, the staff and the massage were the only good things about it. We had our treatment first which was lovely, the therapist was very friendly and the massage was nice. The "spa", however was a huge dissapointment. The swiming pool was in lanes and was being used by the members, who were very rude and made it un pleasant to use. We stayed at the corner of the slow lane talking and the members made us feel like we were doing something wrong, fair enough they pay for the serivce and are trying to do lengths but when you are expecting a spa day you do not expect to be doing lengths in a circuit with 6 or 7 other people. The jacuzzi was tiny and very full, we had to, wait 30 mins for anyone to get out. When we finally got in there, it was cramped enough but people still decided to get in and I had to sit with my legs cramped up as no one else seemed to care they were taking up lots of room. Very uncomfortable and awkwared situation, not a relaxing day as the website says. The steam room and sauna were tiny rooms in the changing room, again used by the members so we had to cramp up which wasnt nice. All in all, massage was nice but would never go again. I dont think the description of the voucher or on their website is at all correct and very misleading. If you are a member then the "spa" is probably lovely but as a spa day, very very dissapointing. Will be sticking to Bath spa!!
I treated my friend to a 'spa day' for her birthday but i found that Spa Day was a bit of a exaggeration. In the price we paid we got a half an hour massage, which was great, no complaints but after a brief swim and chat in the spa pool there wasnt much else to do. Also we purchased gowns to wear but didnt feel comfortable sitting in the reception where the cafe was located. The place was very busy with members who werent very friendly at all. Staff were friendly and helpful no complaints there.
I tried to book at Bristol's Bannatyne Spa on three seperate occasions but they had no availabilities!! The voucher was useless and basically ran out before an availabaility that I could attend came up. Don't buy this if you can only go at weekends or during half terms or school holidays. Waste of time, effort and money :(
I bought my mum, what was described as, a luxury pamper day at Bannatynes, Bristol. Much to our dissapointment we both felt that there was very little in the way of luxury or pampering. The changing rooms were rather busy with hardly any room for us to put our bags down / get changed. The whole pool was roped off into lanes whch made us feel unable to just relax in the pool without swimming lengths and the ambience of the place was far from luxurious or relaxing. There wasnt anywhere to chill out and relax in our robes other than in the restaurant which is at the entrance of the building so people are constantly coming in and out to use the gym and other facilities. The one hour treatments that we recieved were average, again the treatment rooms were very basic and far from luxurious, not even a glass of water available without going down to the bar! At the end of our treatment, but without success, the therapist tried very hard to sell us the very expensive products.
