The facilities are basic, lunch is a sandwich or soup. Treatments were not very luxurious, staff are professional but treatments could be better.
The leisure facilities were small with poor changing fascilities ,this was some distance away from spa facilities ,where the staff were extremely nice & gave good treatments .The food was magnificent ,however were left in a bar & there was no one available for ages, but they were very helpful when they did appear. Better communication& organisation would make a world of difference, it felt like the hotel,spa& leisure do not communicate with each other.
I would say that the staff are nice and it's a nice place, but the pool was small and there was no swimming area. There was no sense of control over what was happening. There was a kid the whole time trying to splash my mum and I when we were trying to relax. Nobody bothered to get him to leave and he was disturbing everyone. The jacuzzi was also broken which was so disappointing because I was looking forward to it. So I ended up paying a ridiculous amount of money for so little to enjoy. I think the hotel is over rated.
The hotel was very good, nice and clean, and a very historic feel to it. staffs were friendly, rooms were in reasonable size. in fact, since we had a twin room, we think the room was quite big, including the bathroom. it was just about 10, 15 mins walk from train station, really close to city centre, and it is not difficult to find. in a way i was a little cautious when i first saw previous comments that facilities in the hotel is not good, in fact, it was OK. the spa and facial was good too.
I chose to buy the Sunday night pamper package was was a bit dissapointed .
The hotel itself is nice the room we had was lovely, newly refurbished and very clean , we had no complaints about the actual hotel.
The spa facilities are limited, but ok . The part that really dissapointed me was my treatment,me and my partner had paid the same price each and both wanted full body massages, my treatment was not too good, the therapist was either inexperienced or couldn't be bothered. However my boyfriend was impressed by his treatment so maybe it depends which therapist you get.
The meal on the evening was not brilliant , and would have rather gone out to eat, I ordered the vegetarian option which was literally a plate of vegetables. The breakfast was lovely the next day.
Overall the room was lovely and the hotel itself nice and in a good distance from all the shops, but we wouldn't bother with the package as a few areas I was quite dissapointed about
