My OPI gel manicure on this occasion was not good. My thumb nail had chipped by that evening which was very annoying as I was away for the weekend, and the whole manicure lasted less than 7 days. The Gel was very thick, which I had pointed out to the therapist, and I think that was the problem. I have visited this salon before for a gel manicure and it had been good.
This was the first manicure I have had at Metta (it's brilliant for massage) and it was very good. Mimi was very attentive and took a lot of time and care over the manicure.
The treatment at Metta was wonderful, very expertly done and very friendly staff. I would not hesitate to recommend this salon.
This was the worst facial I have ever had and I have to agree with some of the other reviews here. The girls at the reception were quite off-hand. When the therapist appeared from downstairs she was non-communicative and had no personality at all. I was not asked to fill out a form and there was no sign of any diplomas or licence displayed. The facial lasted no more than 60 minutes rather than the 70 minutes advertised, and it was an hour of repetitive face rubbing, not massage, which actually felt very uncomfortable. There was no extraction, despite being stated in the treatment details, which had been a reason for my booking it. It was an extremely unpleasant experience and I couldn't wait for it to be finished. I wore a white robe which at the end of the session was put back on a coat hanger for someone else to use! There was no neck and shoulders treatment throughout, just at one point at the end, when it was quite awkward to remove the top part of the robe. My eye make-up was not removed. The bed felt uncomfortable. There was no proper sink, just 3 plastic bowls on the floor, and the therapist throughout the treatment was boiling up the kettle and wringing out a facecloth, making loud splashing sounds.
I would never go back here and I strongly do not recommend it.
My facial with Ann Marie at Tranquility Spa was one of the best ever. She works from a private house but the facilities are very professional and attractive. The red wine facial was a first and extremely good, including the most wonderful facial massage. I noticed an improvement after having this facial and would thoroughly recommend it. A gem.
The massage I had at this salon was super. The salon is a very private place, very cosy and the massage room is delightful with everything one could need. Ann Marie was very attentive and a wonderful masseuse. I felt really good afterwards and have returned since. Much recommended.
The Thai Square Spa is a wonderful find, very authentic Thai, lovely decor and ambience. The staff were very attentive and the therapist was excellent. I really felt the massage had done me good, I felt energised afterwards. Definitely recommended.
The facial at Perfect Feet Spa was good value, however, it was not a good experience. The room was very basic, the towel I lay on seemed wet, and the therapist was extremely heavy-handed. It was the most unrelaxing facial I have ever experienced. Although I have had a manicure at the Spa before which was good, I would not recommend this salon for beauty treatments.
The pedicure at Rock Chic nails is excellent. Very attentive therapist, very meticulous painting of the nails. It's a quiet salon, so very relaxed. The price for a combined manicure and pedicure is very good so I shall try that next time.
Metta Urban Retreat is a delightful find, and right by Oxford Circus, so very convenient. It's a quiet and somewhat unlikely location, in the basement under a nail bar. The Thai Combination massage was perfect and the therapist was very attentive and helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending this salon.
