A beauty addict who loves a bargain x

The perfect place if you're in need of a quick beauty fix. I bought the Gel Nail voucher for £20 and had no problem booking an appointment - at quite short notice too just before i went on holiday. Jade (yes we are on name terms already!) who looks after nails at The Retreat is so sweet, thorough and super friendly. My gel nails lasted for almost 3 weeks - before the re-growth started to look offensive, which is great considering i had been on holiday too. I've since been back and have been recommending to ALL of my girlfriends!

I was actually quite excited about having a colour as it had been so long...
When I arrived the stylist, who could barely speak English, sat me straight down and pushed the colour chart in front of me without asking anything about what i wanted, colours I liked etc - I got the impression she really didn't care about my needs and was more bothered about whether i had printed the off the Wahanda voucher). I decided (pretty much on my own without any input from the stylist) on a dark brown which was actually a lot darker than I really wanted.
Meanwhile another client had arrived and was having a Brazillian blow dry on the chair next to me. Without being dramatic, i thought i was going to pass out. The stench and smokey fumes that came out of that girls hair was unbelievable and it wasn't until i started coughing profusely that one stylists decided to open a window. Awful. At no point had I been asked if I would mind sitting next to a client having this done - i wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.
All I could think about was leaving, so by the time i had had my cut, colour and hair dried, I grabbed my coat and left feeling disappointed and not to mention nauseous with a hair colour that was too dark but an ok cut. All in all a pretty dreary experience.

Located in the basement of a tanning shop, it is quite easy to miss and i did walk past a few times before realising i had to go through the tanning shop.
Once down the stairs you instantly feel a wave of relaxation come over you with the music and incense that fills the waiting area, a stark contrast to stressful, bustling Oxford St.
Alicia - my therpist was super friendly and offered me a herbal tea and went through what the treatment involved. The rooms are quite small but have everything you need including a fluffy white robe. I had the aromatherapy massage and it was truely amazing. Alicia clearly knows what she is doing as all of my aches and pains were relieved and i felt so relaxed. I have since been back and Alicia has tailored the massage according to where i feel aches and areas that knot. She is so professional and genuinely caring.
