At first it was a bit confusing that Tranquillity Health Therapy was not in a traditional shop-space as the map showed it to be on the corner of a street off the main road, but I think it's actually more homely and pleasant that it is in a end unit of a row of terrace houses just off the main road. The ambience was relaxing and not only clean, but well considered in terms of decor and atmosphere - as the rating suggests: spot on. The therapist was really lovely making sure I was okay and comfortable, as it was a lip and chin waxing appointment, and the first time I had done waxing on my face. I was very happy with the result: not painful and the redness calmed down very quickly, probably because of the quality of the products and therapist. I liked that the therapist asked me to check it was to my satisfaction and was more than happy to do one last little patch that was only slightly noticable. I would definitely recommend this fantastic place to my friends and family in West London.
The venue was easy and convenient to get to with a professional ambience and good facilties. I really liked my hair cut and the advice from the stylist was spot on. He completed the cut quickly and did exactly what he suggested. Everything was executed very fast and the overall experience was pleasant.
I went for a lymphatic drainage session that lasted half an hour; it was very relaxing and I thoroughly enjoyed it but it did feel strange to be enveloped in a plastic air cushion. The treatment rooms at London Beauty and Tanning Swiss Cottage are in the basement and poorly lit when I was there, and the room was filled with other strange machines. The therapist was friendly and professional, explaining the procedure clearly. With the Wahanda deal, the session was cheap at £10, but at the full price I would think twice about trying it again.
The osteopathy session with Ian was thorough and the treatment helpful. I have been to other osteopaths for the same (shoulder) problem in the past and didn't expect to learn anything new but I did: it was very professional, insightful and I feel that I can improve my shoulder's condition. It was a hoilstic diagnosis and Ian advised me on other parts of my body that were linked to my shoulder problem. The pilates class with Charlie was a workout and the price reasonable - the floor mats weren't big enough though but that didn't affect the session. The class is suitable for all levels: great for a beginner and slightly gentler for someone advanced. Charlie did say that as the classes went on and people become more experienced, she would add different exercises.
I've been to both mat Pilates and Reformer Pilates before and this is a good beginners to intermediate class. They are quite gentle with first-timers as my friend was, and it is not like some classes that may cause injury to people who aren't used to the machines (as a beginner a few years ago, I sustained an injury to my back by pushing myself too much on the Reformer machine so Pilates HQ is a good pace). The machine layout wasn't ideal in a tight space, but it is Angel, Islington and very conveniently located across from the tube. I am usually used to exerting myself a bit more in a Pilates class, but it was a good enough balance of exertion and relaxed stretching. I would highly recommend it to a those wanting to explore Reformer Pilates.
I loved the ambience and natural light of the salon, the friendly and accommodating staff and Diane the new stylist at Smith's is very chilled and understood exactly what I wanted - she cut my hair dry/natural (as it didn't have any product in it), which I liked as I could see how it would look as I would wear it naturally before the treatment and then lastly, she styled it up with this amazing dry textured dust that feels just right. The treatment was nice and minty and the head-massage was just what I needed. Thanks Smith's and Diane! I'll be telling all my friends about you...
