Really great Thai massage - therapists were excellent. The venue is a little out of the way and can be a bit noisy but the treatment makes it more than worth it. The masseurs really worked hard and got out all the knots - we will definitely be back!
Had a facial and pedicure here last night and the treatments were AMAZING. I agree that the place isn't that easy to find/well signposted and the surroundings are not the nicest but the therapists were both great. The facial in particular is probably the best I've had in London - she was really sweet and polite and has made my skin look so much clearer already. The neck and shoulder massage was also fantastic, not just a wishy washy afterthought (as with so many facials). I've already booked to go back!
Went to Scin Spa Great Portland St last Friday after work - the PERFECT start to the weekend! I had purchased a voucher for a Murad facial, half hour massage and either Essie manicure or pedicure. I had one therapist for the facial and then another who did the massage and the manicure. They were both fantastic - couldn't fault either of them. The facial itself was lovely - relaxing, but also felt like it was really doing my skin some good, and the therapist was very knowledgable and gave me some great tips for my skin. When I woke up Saturday morning it was still glowing, and I have to say, four days on I am still getting compliments about how clear my skin is! The massage was also brilliant and the therapist did a brilliant job of getting out all the knots in my back and neck (and there were rather a lot!) She made sure I left with much less tension than I walked in with. The manicure at the end was a lovely touch - so many fab Essie colours to choose from.
The spa itself is lovely and much bigger than it look from the outside, with lots of large and brand new treatment rooms downstairs. It was very quiet in there and maybe slightly lacking in atmosphere, but at 6.30pm on a Friday that is hardly surprising. I headed home totally relaxed and would not hesitate to return to Scin Spa myself, or recommend it to a friend :)
Went to Strip Soho for the first time due to having a voucher for a special Lycon hot wax and relaxing head massage afterwards. The venue is lovely - gorgeous, stylish decor and very relaxing. Nice touches too like the DVDs playing in the treatment rooms. My voucher said I would be given a choice of different scented waxes like chocolate or lavender, but when I got there a pot of wax was already on (which didn't seem to have any scent) and I wasn't given a choice. The therapist was really good - chatty but not over the top and did a very thorough job. She was however quite pushy in trying to sell me a block of treatments - am guessing they may be on commission?! After the wax was over I did get a head massage which was bliss, but only lasted five minutes - again the voucher said it would be a 20 minute head massage, but I was in and out of the salon within 20 minutes!
Overall a positive experience, but there is no way I would have paid £50 for that experience when other salons do it just as well for half the price.....
My boyfriend and I took advantage of the Wahanda 2 for 1 deal and both had a HydroHealing massage at the spa. We both thought it was excellent - the masseur (I don't know her name, but she was a very polite South African lady) was one of the best I've had in London and knew exactly the right pressure to apply in the right places. She concentrated on my shoulders (which were very tight), but worked the whole body as well. My boyfriend was also suitably impressed and even said he thought at the full price (£65 for an hour) it was still worth it! We'll definitely be going back :)
