I just had a great experience with the waxing treatments at this salon! The therapist was fantastic, very friendly with a great light touch for waxing.
The salon itself is simple and basic but it provides a great service and I will certainly be going back soon. I was very impressed by the flexible late opening times which depend on customer demand - I wish more salons were this flexible :)
I decided to go to Etrily as it is not far from where I live and the mobdeal for two waxing treatments enticed me to give it a try. Unfortunately I have to say that this was the absolute worst brazilian I have ever had in London!
The therapist was very pleasant but English was not her first language, the waxing was incredibly uneven and not even done to a proper Brazillian standard. I had to ask her to even it slightly but she didn't understand me and I guess made an attempt to tidy it up. All in all I coud have done a better job myself at home with my own hot wax and in fact ended up tiding it up myself when I got home. I am annoyed at having paid for two treatments as I really do not want to go back there.
The fact that a roll on wax is used on intimate areas is also very off putting.
The colouring services at Daniel Galvin really are top notch. I love that they are always firm with you and set realistic goals and expectations. With a half head of highlights my mousy brown har was brightened up and transformed giving a very natural glow. Despite loving the idea of going blonde they talked me out of it saying it was too harsh to do it straight away and recommended building the colour. The coloured used never look harsh and do transform your overall look. Highly recommended!
I've been to the academy a few times but have not been back since discovering the wealth of deals available on Wahanda which tend to be better value.
I have only had a massage once there and the girl was very pleasant but she strugged keeping an even pressure. She did ask me through out if te pressure was ok and I gave her feedback but it didn't make much of a difference.
I had a better experience with the facial but the extraction eleemtn was ommited and when I asked her abut it she said it was not included. However, it is mentioned as included in the treatment desciption but she didn't even check.
The manicures I have had have always been fine so I have no complaints there just a comment on how bsy they usuaully are.
The girls are usually very frendly and I understand that they are learning but fr amateur treatments the quality is also often amateur and you might prefre picking up a Wahanda deal instead.
This is my usual gym, it has a good variety of classes and the staff are usally very friendly and helpful. I'm not a big fan of the split level design meaning that the receiption is on the first floor along with all the cardio equipment, the second floor consists of the changing rooms and the weight machines and studio are based on the third floor. The only things which I find very disappointing is the fact that there is only a tiny area for stretching and hand weights which is very inappopriate.
I have natural nails so this review is for a french manicure which was a not an option above. This is a great place which I go to quite often for manicures, I actually love that the all Vietnamese staff are very efficient and I can be in and out in 30-40mins. I also must say that the lack of chit chat in there is also a big selling point as when you are getting a treatment you can just sit back and relax rather than discuss holiday plans etc :)
When I originally booked my appointment for Purity Spa I was very excited expecting a beautiful spa seeing as it was part of the famous Hilton on Park Lane. Unfortunately, my first impression was more similar to the beauty room at my local Fitness First. Walking past the gym (about six machines) and I was directed to wait on seats in the nail bar area which was very untidy with empty glasses an bottles of champagne lying about. The staff were pleasant but very dsorganised and told me that they had double booked my manicure so could nt do it on the day. I was very disappointed as I booked three weeks earlier! The facial was fine but the thearapist left the room a few times so it wasn't very relaxing.
Despite the lack lustre holding area and experience of having a treatment cancelled, I was happy with the massage treatment. With an express massage the therapist really did help in easing out the tension in my shoulders and I would defnitely say that the massage treatment was significantly better than the facial which felt more like an at home treatment.
When I saw the Wahanda deal for Content I decided to really induge and bought two vouchers so that I could have a massage AND a facial to really enjoy two hours of relaxaion. The location is great a its just a stones throw from Oxford Street and the sop is cute and relaxed. The staff were lovely from booking the appointment to leading me to the dainty little treatment room downstairs.
I had a chat with the therapist over my skin concerns and explained that I really like a Swedish massage and a lof of pressure. The theapist was lovely but when it came to the massage I was bitterly disappointed as it was long sweeping movements that was more like a back rub and at no point did she ask me if it was ok or if I was happy with it. Although for me a rather pointless massage it did relax me and prepare me for the fantastic facial!
I had the honey and yoghurt facial which was fantasic! It was definitely the best facial have ever had, it felt great and smelt amazing. As the mask dried the therapist gently massaged my head and decollte and I felt very relaxed. My skin felt fresh and very soft when I left. I would definitely go back for another facial if I wasn't too busy kicking myself for wasting my voucher on the massage!
I had a manicure with Tilly here (sorry manicure did not come up as an option). Tilly was full of great advice for maintaining healthy natural nails and very pleasant throughout the threatment. The venue is basic and far from a relaxing ambiance but for a good professional, quick and good value manicure (£12 for a french manicure) this is a good place to pop into. If you live in the area it can be a handy venue as they stay open until late in the evening.
