The salon is small but clean. My stylist was fabulous. Clearly knew his stuff and I was very pleased with the results (I also had a colour). I would certainly go back for a second visit.
The only downside for me would be the location - a bit of a walk from the tube but worth it for lovely locks!!
Lovely facilities, felt very well looked after. Charlotte made me feel welcome from the first moment (she is super chatty and as the treatment took two and a half hours...she helped make the time pass quickly) She explained the procedure really well - I liked that during my consultation she asked me what I was expecting from the treatment and went on to explain that different people have different experiences of the product. I liked her honest approach - very refreshing.
It is now a week on and I am very pleased with the results. My hair is super manageable and glossy! It certainly worked for me!!
One word of warning, you can't wash your hair for 72 hours following the treatment and as the product is quite heavy-duty - on the last day my hair felt greasy and a bit yuk...like it needed a good wash - worth it though for the results!
This is a very professional set-up, from the moment I called in to make my booking, the service was excellent (the guy on the front desk is the most professional front-of-house I've seen). I am delighted with my colour and cut and the whole experience was first-rate. I would have absolutely no hesitation in going back to Smiths....
OK, the bad part first. There is no bubbly, no conditioning treatment and no head massage plus the salon is in urgent need of a big face-lift. For the first fifteen minutes I was seriously wondering what I was doing there....
Now for the good part - the salon is under new ownership and the owner really seems to know his stuff regarding colour (I was listening in) and the stylist (Robert) certainly knows about blow drys and Brazilian straightening....
So, if you can ignore the facilities (which they are going to be doing up very soon) and your main interest is the fact that you leave with your hair looking glossy and lovely....then worth a try.
Let's start with the bad. The salon needs a desperate update. Half the ceiling lights don't work and it looks very tired. Also, it turns out they have some very bad reviews on various websites....not a good start. Given this, I decided not to have a full haircut, but instead just have my fringe trimmed and a blow dry (as I had already purchased my Wahanda voucher before checking out the reviews).
Now for the good part. The blow dry was quite possibly the best I have ever had - my hair looked absolutely fantastic (unfortunately, I didn't take the ladies name who dried my hair, but she also works on the reception). She was charming and very knowledgeable - I felt in safe hands.
The guy who cut my fringe, was also spot-on - he seemed to know what he was talking about and I wouldn't hesitate in letting him loose on my hair for a full cut....
