Release the tension in your body and mind with a Srota Ayurvedic massage.

How does it work?

The Srota- Marma (as it is otherwise known) is an ancient Ayurvedic massage treatment. It incorporates two therapies, cleansing and marma therapy.

Srota therapy is a deeply relaxing treatment. The therapist uses pressured massage strokes to cleanse and clear toxins from the body’s circulation channels.

Srota therapy is great for relieving stress and muscular tensions, so get ready to loosen up! Another element of Srota- Marma is Marma therapy. Using a gentle touch and pure essential oils, the therapist stimulates the marma points of your skin. If you have not experienced Ayurvedic massage or medicine before, the marma points are the junction points between your body and mind.

The therapy works to promote the flow of energy between your body and mind. By stimulating the vital marma points of your skin, the treatment claims to cleanse and rebalance the communication channels of your body and mind.

Is it for me?

Srota therapy could be for you if you enjoy a Swedish massage as it involves similar massage techniques. If you feel you need a bit of relaxation and have enjoyed other alternative therapies or Ayurvedic massages in the past, you may enjoy the Srota and Marma therapies.

Good to know…

‘Srota’ is the singular form of ‘srotamsi’, the name given to the so called ‘channels of the body’ in Ayurvedic therapies. Srotamsi and the energies that are carried through them are said to affect everything from digestion to the ageing process.
