||Most people can appreciate the value of a good night’s sleep, but two studies -- which both appear in the 1 September issue of journal Sleep -- have linked lack of sleep to obesity and mental distress in young adults.
The first study showed that teens who got less than eight hours of sleep ate more fatty food than those who got more than eight hours. In fact they consumed an average of 2.2 percent more calories from fats and three percent fewer calories from carbohydrates.
