By teaching people to develop their skills and abilities, occupational therapy can help to overcome certain psychiatric symptoms and chronic pain – making life a bit easier to deal with.
A psychologist can help you to tackle problems such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, eating disorders and drug misuse.
Psychology can help people of all ages. There are lots of psychologists who specialise in treating children and adolescents, so young people needn’t feel intimidated by the thought of therapy.
Although psychologists often work with people who are suffering from physical or mental illnesses, they are not permitted to prescribe medication.
