Learn to live with your loss. Grief Recovery is an action program designed to help people move on after upsetting life events. Going through things such as death and divorce cause a person to grieve and can limit their ability to deal with other aspects of their life. It can be helpful to have some guidance at these difficult times – Grief Recovery will provide you with support and teach you methods to help you deal with your grief so that you can get on with living.
Grief is a normal and natural reaction to loss. However, unresolved grief can leave people drained of energy, lacking confidence and unable to concentrate on everyday life. It is therefore important to address this sense of incompleteness and find a way to move on.
Grief Recovery courses are usually spread over 12 weeks. Most Grief Recovery sessions are conducted in groups to help combat isolation and encourage grievers to support one another. Each week you will attend a two hour session, during which you listen to other participants and share your own progress. You will also be given some tasks and extra reading to do outside classes – this will probably take you about an hour a week to complete.
Grief Recovery can help people of all ages deal with the pain of loss. It can be used to aid recovery after death, divorce, financial changes or health issues.
If you really don’t want to partake in group activity it is possible to have one-on-one Grief Recovery sessions.
