Body Exfoliation Treatments description

Out with the old, in with the new. The skin is the body’s largest organ, and it is constantly renewing itself. Unfortunately, during this process, dead cells tend to accumulate on the surface – leaving the skin looking dull and lacklustre. Fancy a whole new you? Book yourself in for an exfoliation treatment and get ready to glow...

How does it work?

An exfoliating body treatment can last from 30 minutes to over an hour, depending on your preferences. During this time your therapist will apply a body scrub in circular motions, removing those pesky dead skin cells and clearing clogged pores. The scrub may be sugar or salt based, or may contain abrasive ingredients such as wheat bran to leave your skin super soft.

Once the body scrub has been applied all over, the therapist will wipe it away with a damp cloth, revealing your new, perfectly polished body. You will usually be given access to a shower to rinse off any remaining scrub and leave you feeling nice and refreshed.

After some serious pampering? Body exfoliation is often combined with other treatments such as a massage or moisturising body wrap – leaving your skin feeling as a good as new.

Is it for me?

If you’re body shy this probably isn’t for you – most exfoliation sessions require you to strip down to a pair of disposable pants.

Body exfoliation is great for problem pores and dull, lifeless skin – however it can be a bit too abrasive for sensitive types who suffer from conditions such as psoriasis or eczema.

Good to know

An exfoliating treatment is a great way to prep your body for a spray tan – it will even out your skin and help you to avoid any pesky patches.
