On each foot there are reflex points which correspond to all of the organs, glands and internal structures of the body. Reflexology is the precise application of massage and pressure to these points in the feet. This application stimulates the bodies own healing process as physiological changes are activated.
People of all ages will derive positive benefits as Reflexology can be used effectively for everyone without limitations, boundaries or discrimination. Reflexology is suitable for babies and small children, men and women and the elderly.
Reflexology has come back into it's own over the past two decades and many doctors, consultants and other health care professionals recognise reflexology as a well established, respected and effective scientific approach to healthcare. People can use Reflexology for many different reasons, for some it will provide relief from stress by deeply relaxing both mind and body, others may use sessions for support to address imbalances, some may like the support when experiencing changes or emotional imbalances in their lives, and others will use it to complement their standard medical care.

What to expect?
Before your first session you will be asked to complete a questionnaire, intended to give a clear picture of your previous and current health and well-being. Please complete it and give it to me to keep it in your client file. The questionnaire, as well as all that occurs in Reflexology sessions, will remain confidential.
In your first visit I will read the various marks, colors, textures and lines on your feet and use this information as a starting point to discuss your current health, well-being and individual situation. Through this your personal objectives will be discussed and you will receive a session.
During the session you will feel pressure on the various reflex points of the feet and/or hands. Some of the areas touched may feel tender or uncomfortable, but this is transitory and may be an indication of a tension or imbalance in a corresponding part of the body.
After the session your body may respond with a variety of sensations. Each person responds in their unique way in relation to what their body needs and the way their body works. It is important to tell me about any such changes as they indicate how your body is responding to work we have done. Subsequent sessions commence with a review of your objectives since the last session.
The number and frequency of sessions recommended will vary according to your objectives and condition. This includes: your constitution, history and nature of the condition, age, body’s ability to react to session, way of life, and active involvement during the session and in-between session process.
An effect is often experienced immediately after the first session although a single session won’t always resolve problems that have been developing over a period of time. Complete or considerable improvement is expected after four to eight sessions for conditions present for a short time, well-established conditions may require further sessions.
