This is quite a firm massage based on applying pressure to various parts of the body and includes stretching. It's an all-over body massage without oil and not suitable for those who don't like strong massages or who have specific areas they need treating.
The massage takes place on a mat, placed on the floor. You wear loose, comfortable clothes and deep, static and rhythmic pressure is applied to the body. The aim of the massage is to leave you feeling energised and rejuvenated.
I use my hands and straight forearms locked at the elbow to apply firm rhythmic pressure over your body. A full Thai massage session typically lasts two hours or more, and includes rhythmic pressing and stretching of the entire body; including pulling fingers, toes, ears, cracking the knuckles, walking on your back, and arching the recipient into bhujangasana (or cobra position).
