Threading is an ancient method of hair removal which originated in India, practiced in the Middle and Far East, and is now gaining popularity in Western countries. It is as equally popular with both men and women in Arabic countries. It involves a twisted piece of cotton used by the therapist which is looped round his/her fingers to remove the hair. The practitioner holds one end of the cotton thread in his or her teeth and the other in the left hand. The middle is looped through the index and middle fingers of the right hand. The practitioner then uses the loop to trap a series of unwanted hairs and pull them from the skin. Hairs are trapped within the cotton, whether it be a row of hairs or single, the technique is very precise. It is a quick, painfree treatment and last 2 to 4 weeks. However the re-growth period depends on the individual. Threading involves no products on the skin and creates beautiful arched eyebrows.
The technique has been practiced for many centuries and has become a very popular form of hair removal within the beauty industry.
