Massage is the manipulation of superficial and deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to enhance function, aid in the healing process, and promote relaxation and well-being.
Swedish massage uses five styles of long, flowing strokes to massage. The five basic strokes are effleurage (sliding or gliding), petrissage (kneading), tapotement (rhythmic tapping), friction (cross fiber) and vibration/shaking. Swedish massage has shown to be helpful in reducing pain and joint stiffness.
We offer a variety of Swedish Massage treatments. Each will have an initial consultation to find out exactly what is required from the treatment, whether it is purely for relaxation, or if there is a specific area for concern. All treatments will be carried out in our relaxing treatment room.
After your massage take some time to enjoy a refreshing glass of water, or a lovely flavoured tea.
