The Spa suite at Sofitel is hard to find and due to waiting at the hotels reception desk plus their repeated misdirection ( possibly due to their slim grasp on the English language and weird elevator system) I was 10 minutes late for my appointment. I was told as they were so busy my treatment time would be shortened ( facial and therapeutic massage ). I requested that the time be taken off the massage. Even so the massage only extended to my neck and back....very disappointing as I had been on my feet giving a presentation all morning. Surely 45 mins is time enough to do legs also ! Then I was told not to use the steam room or sauna as I'd had a facial....if I had known that I would have gone earlier and used those rooms before. There was no instruction either on how to activate the different parts of the hydrotherapy pool. I was not shown the relaxation room....I saw it on the way out, and there was no sight of the chocolate strawberries which were included in the 'deal' either ! I got the feeling I was somehow inferior because I had a 'voucher' and hadn't paid 'hotel prices'. I loved the fact that it was the only client there, so am mystified as to why I was abruptly told upon arrival that my treatments would be shortened. I will be staying at this hotel every six months on business now, so I'm wondering if I'll be going back to the spa.
