I went to have a Hollywood wax. I'd only had this done once before, but at a different salon. As you walked in, the one member of staff didn't make you feel welcome or secure, but rather awkwardly smiled, and made sure her toddler son was occupied before she vaguely guided me into the'treatment room'. The beds and sheets were clean, but there was no form of decoration or ambience, other than some gaudy star fairy lights which were hung round a mirror but not on.
The worst part was the wax itself - on returning home I found that the lady had missed a lot of spots, particularly on the lips. I only have one previous experience to compare this to, but as that time there was absolutely no hair left, this was a bad result for me. You pay for a Hollywood because you want it all off. This is not what happened.
When it came to paying, she asked what I had paid previously. I said this was different as I had my legs done as well, totalling £40. She said well that means it was £20 each, so charged me £20, even though on the website it had said you could get a Hollywood AND an underarm wax for £17.50 altogether. By this point I just wanted to leave so I didn't bother arguing.
Verdict: don't go there for a wax.
