spa LONDON at Marshall Street

Verified (?) Visited Jan 2014

The lights were too bright in the Spa area and with the noise of people in the showers and steam/spa area didn't make the pre-treatment experience very relaxing.

The therapist also doubled as the receptionist which meant that after finishing the client before me, had to help two customers make bookings before she could take me for my treatment. My treatment therefore started late even though I arrived 15mins early and had already completed my medical questionnaire.

The treatment was ok but the therapist had an unusual technique and I didn't like how she used a lot of oil and user her elbows to massage my neck - this is an area which should only be treated with manipulation by the hands. When she raised my leg to massage my calf muscle, she leant it against her hair and shoulders which felt horrible given the amount oil on my leg. I also wasn't offered a shower afterwards to get rid of the over-used frangipani fragranced oil despite desperately needing one.

Given the price, I wouldn't come here again as there are more dedicated spas in central London with better ambience and more well-trained therapists.
