There was no one to greet us when we arrived nor was there a way to notify anyone that we had arrived. The room we waited in had tea and coffee but the water for tea was tepid and the coffee was empty, the cups were not clean and there were no teaspoons. The therapists did their treatments to perfection and once we found someone to show us around he was extremely attentive and a lovely guy (Chris I believe)
Overall there was no ambiance in the waiting room, music was added later in the day which was better. Tea and coffee supplies were allowed to run out, one thing after another, dirty crockery and cutlery piled up on all tables, it could be that they were short staffed, but once highlighted to the staff they attended to things - eventually but events overtook the one guy doing it all.
It would have been better to have had a treatment then put on dressing gowns rather than having to get dressed again to only then have to undress for the spa. It was very dis-jointed.
The whole building was very unloved and in need of modernisation and updating. The toilet had rubbish all over the floor which I put in the bin, the decor was old and therefore looked dirty and aged in most areas, the pool area felt grubby and you had to walk through with shoes on to get to the changing rooms, the therapy rooms were good however.
The visit was for my daughters 18th and we stayed positive and had an enjoyable shared time together. The voucher was incredibly good value if you were able to overlook the shortcomings of the surroundings and staffing.
