Hillmotts Relaxation & Fitness Retreat

I don't know what I was expecting, but I didn't expect to feel so happy and have so much fun whilst feeling so much pain on this 3-day bootcamp! They really put you though your paces, and push you to do more than you realised you could do...but it is so worth it! The trainers Doug, Luke and Craig are briliiant, and use good humour as well as military-style shouting to really get you in the training zone. The scenery on the hikes was amazing, and there were some 'wow life is really amazing' moments that I only would've felt whilst doing the types of activities given on this retreat (won't give them away ;)). You learn about nutrition and get great advice on how exercise and food works in combination to regulate your weight and give you energy etc. Since coming home I have been so motivated to continue going to the gym and I am back to my old exercising self after having slackened off recently. Losing weight was never my goal, but in 3 days I did lose weight which was a bonus, and I toned up amazingly and increased my lung capacity so much so that I really want to keep up running in the gym now to maintain it. There was variety in the sessions and really great stretching ideas to take home; the only criticism is I would have liked more low-intensity options such as yoga and meditation as advertised. But having said that, I feel so proud that I pushed myself (and was pushed with a 'can-do' attitude by the trainers) to go beyond my limits and now I feel so confident that if I can do this 3-day bootcamp I can literally do anything! The rooms were very cute and people were really friendly. Be prepared for getting muddy and wet, but that's half the fun! The massage was amazing too. The trainers really made it though, very passionate about what they do and really want you to get the best out of the experience. Highly recommended and life-changing!!
