After reading all the nice reviews on here, I was a bit disappointed with my experience at Studio 51.
I arrived on time for my appointment, before my therapist had actually arrived at the salon, so I was waiting several minutes - which I didn't mind - but when she did arrived she wasn't organised, the wax machine wasn't ready, and wasn't hugely professional or apologetic.
So my appointment started late, luckily I wasn't in a big rush. Also, the main receptionist/manicurist wasn't very friendly or professional, compared to a lot of other salons I have visited, I didn't feel very welcome.
The overall wax was okay, but I wouldn't recommend it. The wax was too hot and I made it clear this was painful and burned, but it was only after about three 'ouches' did she attempt to cool it down or change the temperature. She was quite thorough but not very gentle (and I've had a lot of Brazilian waxes!) or friendly.
All in all, I was disappointed by my experience here, as I was expecting much better. I wouldn't have minded if the price was very cheap, but it wasn't particuarly good value for the service I got. I have been to many salons in London with a better value and better treatment.
