I had read a couple of bad reviews recently and so was a bit wary about my appointment. I'd heard that they missed the conditioning treatment for a few people so I specifically mentioned that I'd booked this when checking in for my appointment and being handed over to my hairdresser and it did not seem to be a problem.

All staff I met were incredibly friendly, particularly the receptionist. I waited around 5 minutes to be taken to have my hair washed, which they were very apologetic about. The treatment was from the Nioxin range which I was pleased about as I've been keen to try the brand. They told me they select the type of treatment specific to your hair type, which is nice.

My stylist was Paula, who was lovely and very informative. She went through what I wanted very thoroughly and told me that I don't need appointments every 6-8 weeks if I wanted to grow my hair (as I've always expected). She told me to come back every 6 months. She actually cut very little off my hair saying that there weren't really many split ends to get rid of and to cut any more would simply just be shortening my hair unnecessarily (as I'm keen to grow it).

Unlike many stylists, I was pleased that Paula didn't give me the usual spiel about not bleaching and straightening my hair at home and instead recommended methods and products of keeping my hair in good condition despite my styling. Initially I thought this may have been to entice me to purchase additional products from them, but she actually told me I could by them in Boots anyway and that she genuinely just wanted to advise me as these are the products she's tried and tested on herself (Wella).

Overall the appointment was a very good experience and I will likely return for a follow up appointment.
