Hi there I do facials specialising with acne and skin problems, I usually have to look at the skin before finding out the best treatments as there are different types of breakouts but I find the very mild chemical peels tend to help heal the skin quicker & help prevent the skin scarring avoid micro dermabrasion treatments as it can make the problem worse also I do a gentle extraction to clear the skin. Then with the after care it is best to find why you are getting the spot either from products or internally diet or hormones and do a treatment plan to prevent them coming back, hope this has helped my website is http://www.moniqueh.com if you need more advice

The best Facial for your particular skin and problem is to "Customize" . I particularly love Serums and you can choose a Serum to fit your specific needs. The facial would include exfoliation and use of equipment like Ultrasound and Galvanic to help infuse specially selected serums into your skin for the most direct effect.. I would also recommend Home Care products for use at home to complement the Facial.

There are various levels of Peels that can help with pigmentation including Lactic Acid Peels and Glycolics all the way up to stronger Peels like Jessner and TCA. Usually you start with lighter peels and work up to stronger peels and it is a gradual process that can also be aided with home care topical applications of various types of lighteners as well and strict use of Sunscreen to prevent further Sun Damage and Pigment.

Hello Lolly,
How are you & sorry for the delay in my response.
Whilst professional treatments should no doubt, reduce the occurence & severity of spots, if you also don't look after your skin in terms of internal & external processes, they will continue to appear.
Nyame Dua recommends:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Professional Facial Treatments:
Nyame Dua uses Repechage which is based on seaweed & has a range of professional treatments for the various skin types.
For general spots/breakouts I’d recommend:
Repechage Hydra Refine Pore Perfecting Facial
For normal to oily skin - £35 (55 min)
Controls oil, rids skin of impurities & helps eliminate further breakouts. Seaweed, lemongrass & cucumber leave the skin feeling refreshed, renewed & ultra clean.
For problematic/acne skin types Id recommend:
Repechage Hydra Medic Facial
For problem/acne skin - £45 (60 min)
Contains new significant advances in skin care, all based on natural processes. Our exclusive combination of natural herbal & marine ingredients provides advanced skin repair. Controls oil production from overly active sebaceous glands whilst maintaining skin moisture balance. Anti-inflammatory & anti-bacterial formula heals whilst protecting against the damage of mistreated acne conditions & scarring. Proven results!
For best results a series of 10 treatments is recommended in conjunction with a customised home care routine.

Home Care:
You need to ensure your adopting a good home care regime.
In your case, cleansing & toning twice a day is crucial, as is moisturising with a good moisturiser at least once a day.
Cleansing & toning will help clean the skin of the daily build up of make up, dirt & bacteria & the toner will help get the skin squeaky clean whilst astringents have firming properties...
You should also try to ensure you exfoliate 2/3 times a week. This will lift the top layer of dead skin cells from the skin.
St Ives have a good range of over the counter cleansers & exfoliators. Id recommend the blemish fighting range which is for oily/acne prone skin types.
I’d also recommend distilled Witch Hazel as the over the counter toner of choice which has astringent properties.
A number of my clients have taken on this recommendation & have almost immediately started noticing the benefits of using Witch Hazel as a toner.

Self Awareness / Diet
Try to eat a balanced diet & ensure you’re drinking plenty of water, daily. This will not only aid control of your condition, but will also help reduce any scarring.
The recommended daily amount of water we should be drinking is 2litres a day.

What foods should you be eating to minimise/reduce spots/breakouts?

Diet advice from the Food Standards Agency
Skin cells are being replaced all the time. So to help you look your best, you need to make sure your new cells are getting all the vitamins, minerals & other good stuff they need while they're growing.
The best way to do this is to eat a healthy balanced diet. But what does this mean? Don't worry, it's not too difficult, you just need to:
 eat lots of fruit and vegetables, at least 5 portions of a variety every day
 base your meals on starchy foods, such as potatoes, rice and wholemeal bread
 Eat more starchy foods such as pasta, rice, cereals & pulses (such as beans, peas and
lentils). These should make up about a third of your diet.
 have moderate amounts of dairy products such as cheese, milk and yoghurt
 watch how much salt you're eating - the maximum for anyone over the age of 11 is 6g a
day (or 2.4g sodium)
If you're worried that eating healthily means you'd need to give up all the stuff you enjoy eating, don't worry.
The key to a healthy diet is balance, which means that as long as you eat plenty of good stuff (such as fruit & veg), the odd chocolate bar or a packet of crisps once in a while won't do you any harm.

Hi Lolly,
A facial alone is unlikely to get rid of spots I'm afraid. There are many factors which can contribute to acne, which can be difficult to control. A consultation with a professional therapist is the best course of action. Healthy good looking skin is achievable, with use of salon treatments, mild chemical peels, lifestyle and home care. If you are in my area I would be happy to assess your requirements, I offer advanced cosmeceutical prescriptive skin care, please take a look at my website http://www.beautytreatments-lytham.co.uk

I would do a thorough skin analysis and consultation to determine the origin of your hyperpigmentation (dark spots). Assuming that they are the result of acne lesions, I would begin with dermaplaning, a deep-cleansing facial, followed with the appropriate chemical peel and/or mild microdermabrasion. If active acne is present, I might also apply high frequency. I would also suggest that you begin a home care regime which contain glycolic and/or salicylic acids in the ingredients. This is to help suppress future acne break-outs.
