Post - Brazilian Blowdry - my hair feels gross! Help!?

I got a Brazilian Blowdry last week, and afterwords my hair was soft and silky. When it was time to wash out the formula, I accidentally used a shampoo that was not sulfate-free. Since then my hair has felt stiff and has been frizzier than it was BEFORE the blowdry... Could my mistake have screwed up my hair so badly?! What can I do?

Hi, using a shampoo with sulphates in will not strip the keratin from your hair in one wash.
if used often it would gradually remove the keratin from the hair.
it sounds more like you had a bad brazilian blowdry.
I have had a bad one myself so I know it can happen !
The best thing you can do is use treatments on your hair for a couple of weeks to try and repair your hair and then think about having another brazilian blowdry.
If I was you I would make a massive complaint to the salon manager and hopefully get a refund as this is an expensive treatment so you should get what you pay for
I hope this helps.

I had a brazillian blow dry about 5 weeks ago, and it was amazing! Made a huge difference to my hair. I went away and was given a hair cut as a present and had about 7cm cut off. My hair was washed at te salon, and I informed the lady washing my hair that I'd had this treatment. When I washed my own hair several days later I have found that it has gone horribly frizzy and straw like. I am very upset. Is it possible that she used the primer shampoo which might have stripped the keratin from my hair?

I had a similar experience recently. My BBD was washed out completely along with the first hair wash. The shampoo I used was sulphate and sodium free, so I didn't understand why it did not last. I contacted the salon and have been offered another treatment free of cost. Only that , I have been asked to wait for a month - it appears that there must be a wait of few weeks between two keratin treatments. anyhow, I am willing to give it another go. I suggest you contact the salon and see what they have to say.

Hi! Thank you for your enquiry! No.... using the wrong shampoo will make the treatment last short period time but NOT THAT SHORT. It should last 2 or 3 months by using the wrong shampoo anyway.... Feel free to pop in at anytime for free consultation. Regard Leo Mancini

I don't do Brazilian blow dry, I offer something similar but Kebelo is wheat based, contact the salon you had your treatment & get their advice, start using your sulphite-free aftercare immediately and if you have a weekly/intensive mask use that instead of your regular conditioner. I would be surprised if one shampoo do have done permanent damage with a little patience & a lot of conditioner you should loss some of the stiffness & smooth the frizz.

The best thing to do is wash and condition your hair again , it would be almost impossible for 1 shampoo to effect the Keratin treatment as it is not only on the surface of your hair it would have penetrated deep into the hair. I would go back to the Salon and ask them to wash and blow ry it and see if it is still the same (frizzy)
