I am an Essex girl working in and loving London - a strangely happy commuter! I am passionate about writing, fabulous stationary and owning far too many nail varnishes that I will never actually get through. Anything purple has my vote. With sensitive skin and numerous odd allergies I have to be careful about what I put on my skin, so I love sampling new things! Thoroughly enjoy being pampered and spoilt, getting over-competitive at my badminton club and going out for gorgeous meals.
I went to Valentino Salon for a facial treatment, which was performed by the lovely Michelle. As soon as I stepped into the treatment room, she was analysing my skin type and she really personalised the treatment so that it was tailor-made for me. She was incredibly professional and a wealth of skin care knowledge, offering practical advice about how to specifically look after my skin. The treatment itself was fantastic, using Dermalogica products. To combat my spot outbreak, Michelle made sure to use steam and exfoliation as well as a very thorough extraction section. The facial also included loads of massage segments - my hands and lower arms were massaged whilst my face was being steamed and later on in the treatment, I also had a shoulder, neck, upper chest and facial massage which was blissful. My skin looked great afterwards - even my spots looked super clear! I had that fab, fresh glow and I now have the confidence that my skin will get through this spotty patch thanks to Michelle's hard work!
The beauty treatment room is situated downstairs, and is nicely decorated in whites and greys. It's nice and spacious so you're not cramped at all. The venue was easier to find than I was expecting, less than five minutes away from High Street Kensington tube station. All of the staff were really friendly, wanting to make me comfortable and Michelle especially put me at ease straight away with her expertise.
I enjoyed a fantastic 90 minute Karin Herzog Smoothie Luxury Hydrating Facial when I went to The Beauty Lounge E11 last month. My therapist Ilona was a complete professional, bursting with beauty know-how and tips of the trade on how to deal with my skin type. She knew the products inside out and I loved this massage-heavy and relaxation focused treatment. Definitely an indulgent me-time treat perfect for unwinding at the end of the week. The salon is also gorgeously decorated, clean and feminine -a real gem snuggled away in Leytonstone.
When Lucy from Milk Beauty came to our office for a round of file and paints, I must confess I was super excited. I love having my nails done and this occasion was no exception. She neatly filed my nails to a tidy uniform shape before applying one of the array of OPI colour polishes that she had brought with her. I chose a dark, slightly sparkled plum-purple shade, although it looked more red in the bottle. I don't mind though as I think they look really great. I'm on day four and they are still in good nick, with only one tip looking slightly less than pristine, but it is so small you can't even really see it. The therapist was chatty, friendly, polite and interesting, a really lovely woman.
On the whole, a perfect lunch time treat!
I went to Princess Soraya Salon on Friday for the Meder Arma Lift facial treatment, that is designed to combat sagging and loose skin using a mix of serums, creams and a galvanic current. I found the treatment was very professionally performed and thoroughly explained to me - it is clearly evident that Firouzeh knows her stuff when it comes to skincare and is all about tailoring the experience for each individual in her client base.
I thought she was absolutely lovely and very knowledgeable so I would definitely return.
I went to La Chic to have the all-encompassing De-Stress Package, that is absolutely chock-a-block with relaxing ayurvedic treatments. It started with a sauna session, followed by a full body scrub and mini facial, including face lift massage. The treatment concluded with an ayurvedic full body massage. My therapist Raheela was fantastic and clearly demonstrated her years of experience with an incredibly thorough treatment that used a variety of techniques and skills.
The salon is roomy, warm and welcoming, with a modern and elegant finish. A great escape on the high street.
I was so impressed with my deep cleansing facial treatment at Amara Spa. Performed by the wonderfully endearing Henrietta using a great mix of Dermalogica products, the entire treatment was so relaxing. It included cleansing, toning, moisturising, extractions, face mask and plenty of massage, really making it such a treat. It was so soothing I almost fell asleep on numerous occasions!
I loved the ambience and atmosphere of the spa, which had classy and clean decor as well as a polished finish. Super easy to find on Fulham High Street, mere minutes away from Putney Bridge Station, Amara Spa definitely needs to go on your venue hit list!
I went to Thai London Therapy's new venue in South Kensington for a Thai Massage on Friday, and I have to say, it was simply fabulous. The venue was really easy to find, just a simple two minute walk from Gloucester Road tube station, and even though it is downstairs in a hair and beauty parlour, they still have their own neon sign outside so you know you have the right building.
The treatment itself was absolutely perfect - really worked through all of my muscle knots and tension all over my body leaving me feeling so relaxed and comfortable. I also loved that the treatment was performed on a mattress on the floor as opposed to a massage bed - just as comfortable yet it allows your therapists to reach you better. My therapist Sandy was so lovely and a true professional whose experience literally oozed as she tackled my problem areas easily.
A welcoming and warm atmosphere, blissful treatment and brilliant therapists. I would definitely recommend this venue for anyone!
I was so impressed by my visit to Splash Goodge Street. I had the lovely Daniella give me a Shellac manicure, and never have my nails and hands been so thoroughly spoiled and treated to a proper going over by a perfectionist of a professional. I'm now onto the end of week three with them and they still look gorgeous; the nails still with their carefully filed uniform shape and no chips in sight.
The salon itself is so relaxing with a fun and comfortable vibe that instantly puts you at ease. The manager Francesco literally couldn't do enough for me, fetching me a glass of white wine and checking that the music wasn't too loud for me.
I really enjoyed my visit to Splash Goodge Street and I am already contemplating which treatments to book before my holiday this June! Thanks so much guys!
Headed to Vixen last night for a threading and manicure treatments, and I was really impressed by this brand new venue. Even though they have only been open a week, the interior is bold and bright with a cheery, casual feel that puts you at ease. Literally next door to Totteridge and Whetstone station, there is no chance of getting lost which is great!
I have never had threading before and I was impressed by the level of professionalism taken to ensure that my eyebrows were the right shape and thickness to suit my face and enhance my features. My therapist Tanya also took the time to explain how threading worked and gave me a mini demo on the back of my hand. The manicure was also great, with a wide choice of varnishes from Essie, Jessica and OPI.
Had a thoroughly lovely evening and I would definitely recommend the expert services and friendly atmosphere of Vixen Nail Bar and Beauty.
I can't praise The Angel Laser Clinic highly enough - they are extremely professional, efficient, knowledgeable as well as being kind and polite. I am currently halfway through a course of six sessions of laser hair removal on my underarms, and I am already so impressed. I have noticed a visible difference in the hair growth and it is so lovely to see it going down! It makes me so excited for when the treatment is complete as I can already see results.
The venue is very clean, tidy and welcoming and even though its in a gated building with other offices and businesses, there are numerous signs and maps sign pointing the way, making it surprisingly easy to find.
The great thing is the service is fantastic. One time I went, they refused to do the treatment because I had taken paracetamol in the morning, and although it was frustrating for me at the time, it was great to see them taking my health so seriously, as they explained that taking paracetamol makes your skin more photo sensitive. My therapist consulted with the doctor on this, so it just shows what a professional venue they are. The booked me in for the next day instead and I was able to have the treatment then.
The staff are so lovely and pleasant, which puts you at ease right away. I don't personally think the treatment hurts at all - it just feels like you are having your eyebrows plucked. I would wholeheartedly recommend this treatment and this venue as I have been so impressed, especially since this is my first laser hair removal treatment, so they were very thorough when explaining everything to me. Really near Angel tube station too so great travel links.
