Alexander House and Utopia Spa is set in 120 acres of private gardens and parkland. You arrive at Utopia Spa through a Gothic corridor with marble, granite and the sound of trickling water. The atmosphere is relaxed and spacious but welcoming and friendly. There are areas to be active and areas to be quiet and enjoy the tranquility.

The subterranean setting of the pools with their stone columns and domed ceilings are truly what a spa is all about - water and relaxation. Water treatments abound in the three pools with their unique features all waiting to be discovered or pamper yourself and relax in our changing suites, each with its own steam room, sauna and monsoon showers.

Treatments are extensive and many unique to Utopia. Two persons treatment suites are available as well as a dedicated pedicure, manicure and hairdressing studio.

Relaxation is at the heart of your spa experience, our relaxation room open onto the veranda and grand ballustrated staircase down to the tranquil Spa Garden. Here our hot spa pool bubbles away and loungers invite you to linger - this is true relaxation.

Unique Spa Bedrooms and Suites are situated above Utopia with direct access for guests on one of our Spa Escapes. Our exciting brasserie "Reflections" served delicious food, overlooking "Flames Courtyard", our open air terrace with its log fire pit - another great place to relax. And our 3 AA Rosette Fine Dining Restaurant AG's is ideal for foodies wanted to celebrate a special occasion!

Please note Spa Access and Use is restricted to over 18's only.

The overall experience was fantastic and really relaxing. However, a lot of the staff are foreign and don't speak very good english. The few english staff that were at the House made the experience far better as you really felt like you were in a grand country house. The food was good in all of the restaurants and bars, however, hot food was often served relatively "luke warm". On our first night in AG's, the waiter had a personal hygiene problem which was very off-putting. Overall, I think the AG's restaurant is over-priced (whilst the quality of food was excellent, if it is cold, there is no point), however, the menu is extra-ordinary and the ambiance is very relaxed, formal and quiet. On the other hand, the Relaxation restaurant had a much livelier ambiance, the menu was exquisite with something for everyone, the waiters were very friendly and much better value for money!

During the day, my partner and I had a lovely walk round the grounds - spotting a large group of deer, geese and various birds. We then played tennis and a giant game of tennis. We then relaxed in the spa - there is certainly something for everyone! My only complaint about the spa would be that the chlorine was perhaps too strong which made my skin react (I am used to chlorine so this was unusual to me).

Loved the spa, the gym and the food.

A designated area for those waiting for spa treatments would be helpful.

A lovely spa break and massage. Is was a bit busier than I had expected and this resulted in a mix up when therapists were calling people for their treatment… I ended up on one treatment bed then being switched over! No big deal but they should sort their system out to make you feel a bit more special.

Lovely standard room with a super comfy bed. Dinner in AG restaurant was very unique, chocolate tree dessert being the highlight for me. The indoor pool was really special, loved it. Breakfast could be improved.

All round, a fantastic experience. The only downside was having to wait three quarters of an hour between starter and main course at dinner, and lack of tables at breakfast. Chances are we were just unlucky on our visit. Food was superb though. Worth bearing in mind that there's a rather hefty service charge added to everything, including drink, which can really bump up the cost of the stay.

We have always had a good experience at this spa but this time it was quite chaotic and frustrating. There were so many people around that we could not even find a chair to leave our robe on; both the men's and women's changing rooms run out of towels more than once. We had to wait for them to be replaced before we could dry off and go in for the Afternoon Tea. Nobody told us that the Afternoon Tea was in a different place to where lunch is served (and we have always been in the past) and that you have to be properly dressed for it (so no robe, shorts or gym gear allowed). As a consequence, first we hang around the empty restaurant until eventually we could find somebody who could speak to us to tell us we were in the wrong place and then we were moved to a "naughty" corner on our own because we were not properly dressed. I was kept waiting 20 minutes for my massage and some more when I was trying to queue at reception to find out whether they had forgotten about me. It was really crowded and the staff did not look as concerned and helpful as usual. I hope they don't lose it by becoming too greedy and booking too many people in at the same time, because it is otherwise a lovely place.

I love this venue, super clean and luxurious without being pretentious. Staff are welcoming. I attended on a Tuesday so nice and quiet which is my personal preference. Felicity was on time, friendly and helpful and I was really happy with my haircut.

We felt completely pampered and re-energised by our stay. The welcome and tour was excellent; the bed linen luxurious; the food was delicious; we had exceptionally good massages and found all the Spa facilities to be as good as we had been led to believe they would be.

I love this venue, especially on a quiet midweek day. The salon was pristine and felicity was lovely. She was friendly, quick and confident. I will return.
