Tylney Hall Hotel part of Elite Hotels

Tylney Hall truly is the ideal retreat for a relaxing pamper break. Set around a charming courtyard, complete with fountain, the Health Suite has everything needed for a relaxing break. Our Beauty Salon offers a wide range of treatments, individually tailored to your own needs and our professional, knowledgeable and helpful therapists are on hand to offer any advice you may need.

Tylney Hall is a Grade II listed mansion with beautiful gardens of significant historic interest. The current house dates from 1898 and served as a hospital during the First World War, later becoming a private school. Today, it’s one of England’s most comfortable and characterful country house hotels.

For summer days, the outdoor pool, tennis courts and croquet lawn compete for your attention. In winter the gym and indoor pool, which features a whirlpool, offer a more comfortable workout. There is an 18-hole golf course adjacent to the hotel. Horse riding, archery and clay pigeon shooting can easily be arranged. A sauna, game of snooker or simply a stroll around the beautiful gardens and wooded trails can be yet another way to relax at Tylney Hall. Set in 66 acres of parkland and gardens, we will be delighted to accommodate a wide variety of leisure activities.

Grounds we're amazing and staff so friendly !
We will be going back next month.
Only thing I would say when we asked to go to the local pub we we're sent to one recommendation of receptionist witch certainly wasn't local and £30 in taxi, so just insure it is a local your going to for a bite to eat.
Over all 5*

Absolutely amazing in every regard. I only wish the jacuzzi was warmer than the pool. Other than that, I cannot rave about this place enough.

The hotel was lovely. Room was big and clean. My massage was very good. Food was good as well. Only let down was the pool really. It is a bit small and cold. Plus there was alot of families and was difficult to separate children playing from adults relaxing. Over all it was ok.

Overall Tylney Hall was an enjoyable place to visit, although fell slightly short on delivering the full spa experience. The treatments were a very good standard but the other facilities were considerably below par. The pool too small, separate saunas for the ladies and gents, which was not ideal for a couple and the temperature of the jacuzzi was Luke warm at best. The food was very tasty, but we found some of the staff to be somewhat snobbish which considering the price was totally unacceptable.

The hotel was magnificent, it is stunning on the inside and out. Our bedroom and bathroom were very large and impressive, yet homely and comfortable. Everywhere in the hotel seemed very clean, and we loved the grounds that surrounded the hotel, even on a cloudy day in February the grounds were enchanting.

The only downside was the staff, who meant well and were friendly, but seemed to be badly trained or badly managed. There were occasions when the staff didn't seem to know what to do with their customers. We had to wait over half an hour just to be seated for breakfast, and then didn't get what we asked for. The staff seemed quite stressed at breakfast and some were even running around which didn't fit in with the relaxing atmosphere that we had been promised.

The pool and sauna facilities were really nice, and extremely clean. I liked the space around the pool to relax and read. Overall our stay at Tylney Hall was very pleasant, but it seemed overpriced given the problems we experienced with the service.

beautiful hotel, setting, atmosphere , food & v attentive staff
spa and gym are a bit basic and small - & hotel room was lacking a few basic things - like properly placed mirror, spa slippers (despite asking) but otherwise -a great place.
is probably stunning in summer as freezing January didn't showcase it probably.

We had a lovely break. The hotel was amazing and the staff were lovely. The Indian head massage was also very good and very relaxing. The only (small) downside was that the jacuzzi in the pool wasn't hot and the saunas were seperate for men and women meaning a couple can't enjoy one together. Overall, a very successful trip.

A beautiful hotel in lovely grounds, the staff were excellent, the food was delicious and the room was the nicest I've stayed in - large and nicely decorated. The 'Spa' is not really a spa though (nor do they advertise it as one in fairness), just an unattended pool/jacuzzi and saunas in the changing rooms. The treatment area is a short dash across the courtyard and we had to ask for robes so we could get there without changing/freezing. The treatment was nice but it's a shame the areas aren't more joined up and the pool area would benefit from a bit of a re-vamp. Overall excellent value for money for the room/dinner and the treatment but not exactly what I'd call a Spa retreat.

Biggish hotel, but felt personal. The staff were fantastic always available when you needed them and even when you didn't realise yourself you needed them! Very friendly and personable. Room was great and we enjoyed the general atmosphere around the hotel.

I don't usually give a review but some of the aspects of this weekend were particularly bad. The concierge were terrible, not helpful at all with one word replies. One of my spa steatments was the worse I have ever had. It felt like she had never given the treatment before. Some of the food at the bar was bland (especially the sandwiches), definitely not worth the £8 for it! Finally, the spa area was disappointing, the jacuzzi was cold, and when we asked the staff where it was located most of them didn't even know!
