Have you been here?
I did a lot of research before I went into Twisted Sister. It seemed to have absolutely glowing reviews. Also I had driven past it and it looked lovely. Its a "boutique salon" so I knew it would be quite expensive. So I went in and they came over and discussed what I wanted. I really wanted to go a pastel colour. She said she could do this for me no problem. I have quite dark hair already so it needed a full head of highlights and a toner over it. I arranged an appointment for the next day. I arrived and was seen pretty quickly. The creative director was lovely, don't get me wrong. She spent a long time putting loads of highlights in to lift the colour. (I already had highlights done a few times before this to build it up) This took about 2 hours. Everything had gone quite well until this point. She took me over to take the highlights out and put the toner in. She then came back over early and told me she wanted to keep it in longer, but she had someone else coming in so needed to just rinse it off. She literally just blasted my hair dry with a drier, no real skill or anything require. The colour was a hideous dingy blonde colour, cos the toner had "stained" it slightly. It obviously hadn't been left on nearly long enough. Nothing like what I wanted. I didn't get a cut or anything like I had planned. She told me I could just "do it at home myself" (the toner). I was rushed out the door and charged £120.
I am hardly wealthy, so I don't have the money to just go and get it done again elsewhere and would need to wait a fair while, so I was utterly devastated. I went to superdrug on the way home and bought dye just to chuck over it. It actually looks quite a bit better. I gave 2 stars because she DID spend a fair amount of time bleaching it, it was the rest of the service was bitterly disappointing.
