Had a wonderful few days - paid £19.95 each to eat in Blue room and have to say service was very poor. Young girl very slow and forget to ask us for our dessert order and the Maitre'd didn't seem to have slightest interest in the guests dinning in the room. The service in the main eating area however was first class served by 2 fabulous girls - 'Lovely and Grace'
Was unaware until we arrived that there had been Norovirus on site and no one had notified us previous to our arrival.

Weekend booked via wahanda ok only to be told by hotel that all treatments fully booked. Received a refund for treatments and enjoyed our stay nonetheless. Beautiful hotel and grounds. Fantastic food. Entertainment ok. Only little quibble was that there was no wi-fi in the rooms. Limited cellular phone signal inside the complex.

My daghter and I really enjoyed a relaxed and relaxing evening at Thoresby. It was not crowded and the staff were helpful but unobtrusive. It was lovely and warm and we enjoyed all the facilities - especially the pool and the steam rooms. We had tea and cakes after our massage - good value but it's a shame the cakes are bought in rather than being supplied from the Hall kitchen. Both our massages were good and we would have them again. Over all a lovely, relaxing experience.

I visited this place a short while ago and absolutely loved it. The food was AMAZING! The staff were friendly, the spa treatments were divine (I fell asleep during my swedish massage as it was just sooooo relaxing!!) and I just had the most wonderful time. I would go back here for sure! The only thing worth mentioning is that this is definitely targeted at an older crowd, and as a couple of other reviewers have mentioned, a number of guests were 60+. But its still a really great spa!

Most of guest in hotel was over 70 . Had a lovely time but would like to see younger people. It's a warner hotel which are for the older people which we didn't know. A couple of things was'nt working in the spa which was a bit disappointing but didn't stop us having a good time.

Thoresby Hall is a great experience, the old hall has lots of charm, is well maintained and a nice place to be and relax. The spa experience and treatments were great, the staff were some of the most pleasant and helpful I have come across. Entertainment was varied and enjoyable, so there was something for everyone. The rooms were of a good size and very well serviced, there wasn't a great variety of choice in the food department, but what was on offer was of good quality and taste. The venue seems to attract mainly the older aged adults, forties and up. I would go again.

It wasn't easy to book my treatment because they must have a problem with answering the phones. I did enjoy my treatment though.

It was an absolute nightmare trying to get through to Thoresby to book my treatment, with constant answer machine messages. I told spa reception I was there and was invited to sit in the waiting area. After a little while someone came dashing across saying I hadn't paid for my massage! All a bit disorganised really. The massage was fine, although I didn't appreciate the cold oil just being poured onto my back, it made me flinch. It was a shame because I have been before and had a much better experience.

This was a second visit and the spa is fabulous with plenty of rooms to relax in , the only thing that has disappointed me on both occasions was the staff on the reception, they don't seem to have a clue as to what they are doing .

What Wahanda do not advertise is that this "spa break" actually entitles you to 2 hours in the spa...maybe I'm being a little fussy when for a 3 day, 2 night spa break you get to use the spa for a total of 2 hours.

I would say 95% of the guests are over 65 * the place has a Butlins feel to it.

Truely awful place......avoid it like the plague!! I have done so many spa breaks (which cost less than this one) so shop around.

I bought this for my partner as a mothers day gift, luckily she chose me to go with her and I have to say this is the best spa either of us have been to, it was simply amazing. The spa facilities are excellent including the large spa pool and tropical shower, the Swedish massage was without doubt the very best I have had and the Italian meal was gorgeous, I am a fussy eater & my partner was full of dread thinking I would be prodding & picking through the 3 courses but I ate the whole meal.

This in my eyes was simply heaven and I would recommend to anyone!
