I visited Thermae Bath Spa for a Twilight deal (3-hour evening spa session and a meal).
Overall, I was extremely impressed by the spa. The customer service was very good and the facilities were fantastic. The aroma steam rooms in particular were spectacular. The roof top pool had some amazing views and the Minerva baths were very relaxing and I could have bathed there indefinately.
That said - unfortunately I visited on a Saturday. In my opinion the spa was far too busy and that took away from the relaxation. There was a que to the roof top pool. When I finally managed to get into the pool, there were people everywhere and it was quite unpleasant to swim around.
The meal I had was very tasty and service in the restaurant was tip-top.
I would highly recommend this spa to anyone, the warm thermal waters are really a fantastic experience. But please do avoid busy times.

Spent two hours in their amazing pools and steamrooms. LOVED the view from the rooftop pool. Overall an extremely good experience in the thermal part of the spa.

I also had a massage there and it was excellent. A bit on the expensive side but the therapist was extremely professional and gave an incredible massage. Only downside was that she tried to sell me a lot of products at the end when all I really wanted was just to continue relaxing and not be under any pressure to spend even more money than I already had.

Very relaxing and wonderful experience. Especially I loved the hot rooftop pool and the steam rooms. Good value for money and will definitively be going back.

I visited here with a friend while living in Bath. We took the two hour deal which was the perfect amount of time to relax, any longer and we'd have run out of stuff to do! The steam rooms were great, with 4 different scents and only one was rather overpowering. My favourite was definatey the mint one- very refreshing! The rooftop pool has fantastic views. It was not quite as warm as I was expecting but it was a beautiful day, would be good to check it out in the winter.
I woud recommend it, and it's so easy to pop in unplanned. Bonus if you live in Bath you get a discount!

My visit was part of a wonderful city break in Bath so may be slightly coloured by the rest of my trip, but I could not recommend this place highly enough. Everything about it, from the wonderful hot rooftop pool to the extensive hydrotherapy pool and aromatherapy steam rooms was a delight, and the location in the historic Roman spa town only makes a visit here more magical. I can't recall the price details of Thermae spa, but remember being impressed at the value for money. I'd love to go again if I was ever in the area!

Sounds lovely - was the place crowded, or did it feel crowded?

I don't remember it being too crowded, although it was quite busy on the day, I seem to remember.

I went for a watsu treatment, which I totally loved and would go for again in a heart beat. My therapist was amazing, you have to really trust them to be able to relax in the water with them holding you. I was so chilled after, I really did need half an hour to lie down after though. I then went on to use the spa facillitys, which i was a bit dissappointed about, spent most of the time up on roof in the fab pool, the steam rooms were ok but a bit uncomfortable and we never got a chance to use the huge ceiling shower as it was always busy. We rented a robe and towels but they were very thin and soaked instantly so if I went again I would bring my own. It was lovely to see all ages using it, old ladies to young guys. I like the concept, but it needs a little bit more work to make it feel special. I would go again though.

The massage sounds great - your review inspired us to add a full description of Watsu massage to the site - let us know what you think of it! http://www.wahanda.com/treatment/watsu-massage

I really love watsu but it's not easy to find in the UK, I think I will check it out in Bath next time I am there, thanks

Living in Bath, I have visited the Spa on several occasions, and its so brilliant I just can't stop going back! Its perfect either with a group of friends or with your partner. The view from the roof spa is incredible and the best place to be to watch the sunset.

Went to Bath for the weekend for my 33th Birthday with my boyfriend. We had made no plans to go to the spa but while shopping saw that it was located in the city centre and went out and bought some costumes. We opted for the four hour package as we had plans made for the eve.
Impressive and breath taking the outdoor pool over looks historical Bath.In September the sun was beating so the jacuzzi areas were quite busy and the heat rooms inside fantastic.
Downstairs there is a huge pool and cafe area.
If in Bath or planning a weeknd away this is a MUST.Shopping,Spa,Meal all within meters of one another .
Quite popular with tourists so avoid summer months!
One of my favs!

For an affordable and accessible way to take time out, Bath Spa hits the spot. It's not ultra luxurious or somewhere that you would need or want to invest a great deal of time in, but if you're looking to dip your toe into the spa world, without breaking your bank balance, then this is place for you.

You can pay by 2 or 4 hours or half a day (personally I think 2 is plently unless you;re having a treatment). There are lots of different floors but undoubtedly the rooftop pool is the highlight. The views from here are stunning and even if it's raining you can still get in - just have a warm towel waiting when you get out again!

Once you've worked all the floors you might get bored as there's not really anywhere to lye down and sleep/relax (hence why 2 hours is plenty). There is an indoor pool and a floor with different aromatherapy pods which is lovely. We didn't have treatments but I believe it's worth booking these in advance as it gets very busy.

I will go again for sure, as it's such good value for money - but I would use this as somewhere to drop into on a Sunday for a couple of hours to replenish - it's not somewhere to spend a whole day.

The view from the rooftop pool is absolutely stunning and makes this spa a great addition to any trip to Bath. We went on a Tuesday and it was lovely and quiet - apparently Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are the quietest days. As well as the rooftop there's a lower pool which is lovely and warm and sends you drifting happily round and round on the warm currents, and finally a middle floor with four differently aroma'd steam rooms to choose from, and a tropical rainforest shower.

Unless you buy a package or a treatment, it costs a hefty £9 to hire a robe, towel and slippers. On reflection we didn't think this was worth it. Next time I would be more organised and bring flipflops and a couple of towels.

We had a twilight package which entitled you to a four-hour visit including dinner in the restaurant. Unfortunately the food was a bit of a let-down. I also don't think you really need four hours, there's not enough to do, so next time I would just take a two-hour package which is much more reasonable.

As we had arranged the trip quite last minute, we could not get any bookings for treatments at the spa (we were told treatments need booking typically two months ahead) so we took advantage of the twilight package which for a very reasonable £35 offers a 3 hour spa session, towel, slippers and robe and a main course and drink from the restaurant. We went in at 18.00 and it was lovely that it wasn't very busy. The roof-top thermal pool with jacuzzi areas and views over the towers of Bath at sunset was wonderful. The inside thermal pool was also very enjoyable with jacuzzi area and currents to float you around.

The meal included in the twilight package was a little disappointing and I felt this let the spa down. The service was a bit haphazard and the twilight package menu somewhat inferior to the main menu which resulted in no glasses so we had our carton juice (freshly squeezed on main menu) from plastic cups and half the options (platters) not being ready yet so it all took a long time. We had a fabulous time in the spa but unfortunately did not feel very special in the restaurant.
