Me and my boyfriend really enjoyed ourselves and never felt so relaxed. Staff were lovely and very catering to our needs. The staff at the apartment were lovely as well. We are planning another date to go back. Hopefully soon.

My sister and I have been treating ourselves to a hammam experience here for a few years now and it became one of our favourite spots in London. We loved it every time we visited and raved about it to friends and family. After about a year we went back last night and were sorely disappointed.

Firstly, the attendant at the front desk was a tad surly and patronising with us. We decided not to let that sour our experience, though - everyone has bad days.

We were booked for a salt steam and hammam experience, so of course we expected the steam before the scrub, as is usually done to soften the skin before treatment. Instead we were ushered into the hammam first. We shrugged it off as the scrub was more important to us anyway. In hindsight, we should’ve said something.

We were very disappointed by the savon noir (traditional Moroccan black soap) – it wasn’t noir in the slightest! The attendant watered it down before applying and smeared it very very thinly on our skin - it was totally transparent. In fact, when she left us for a while it actually dried to a sticky film on our skin, rather than a luxurious, thick, black skin mask as it should be. The scrubbing was also very half-hearted and perfunctory, with the attendant not even asking us to flip over. We were then taken to the steam room afterwards, which seemed rather pointless at that stage. The steam room and the hammam were pretty tepid as well, so we didn’t get the blast of heat that’s expected and that we’ve had there before. The steam room was also dirty, with a ball of hair in one corner.

The most disturbing thing, however, was the scrubbing mitt situation. Every other time (and at every other hammam) the traditional scrubbing gloves are removed from plastic packaging in front of the client, so you can see that they’re new or have been sterilised. When we entered the hammam the gloves were already by the sink, waiting for us, unpackaged. After the scrub it’s customary (again, here and elsewhere) to put the glove back in its plastic and give it to the client to take home and re-use. We weren’t given them so when we got to reception we asked about this. We were told, “Sorry, we don’t do that any more,” and when we asked why, she just said “Management’s decision.” It seems very clear to me from seeing unpackaged mitts and not being given them that they are in fact re-using them, which makes me sick to my stomach. There’s no other reason I can think of and this is the main reason that I will not be returning.

On the whole, it seems like this spa, despite all its awards, is in financial trouble and doing things on the cheap. The tepid rooms, watered down inferior products, lack of cleanliness and reusing of what should be disposable items all point to lack of funds and I’m afraid I won’t be helping them out by going back.

Me and my friend went along for the Moroccan Marjorelle package on the 8th of November with great expectations of the spa and the treatments. However I’m sad to say that we were very disappointed with the treatment and the spas subsequent response to my email.

The spa, its ambience and the facilities on offer are wonderful but I felt the treatments and experience were lacking for the following reasons:

1. When we initially asked one of the ladies as to what the sequence of treatments would be we were told that she didn’t know and were just told to wait. I asked her if she knew what package we were having and what this consisted of and she said she didn’t know!
2. I regularly go to a hammam once a month, which is far less luxurious (and a fraction of the cost) then Dolphin Sq. However at all times one is given a therapist each so that one is not kept waiting.
3. I had to ask for mint tea and was not served this. When asked the lady said it was to share and that it had already been served to my friend! My friend explained that she had only been served tea for one person and only thereafter was I brought some out!
4. We thereafter asked the lady at reception if she could notify us when the couple in the steam room had left so that we could go in there to use it. if looks could kill, then I wouldn’t be writing this. Needless to say the response was rude and unwarranted. Neither were we notified. We kept checking ourselves whilst seated in the relaxation area.
5. The scalp and hair mask was not fully applied to my scalp and hair- only just to the side of my head. The description of the treatment on the website says that this is a hair and scalp mask and therefore I expected the therapist not to cut corners. The therapist did not even loosen my hair from the bun to apply this to the ends!
6. When I went in for my massage the therapist asked me what areas to concentrate on and did not have a copy of the form that I had filled in on arrival. If she did then she would not have needed to ask.

Overall, for the amount of money that I paid, I was not happy with the level of service and treatment that I received. I felt that the therapists were trying to cut corners during the treatment and the general demeanour of the staff at reception was rude. I did not expect this for a spa that has won accolades. For these reasons I would not recommend this place. Beauty and comfort are all very well but not enough as all luxurious spas offer this and its the service that differentiates one from the other.

I emailed the spa with the above points and this was one ago. I received an acknowledgment to say my email had been passed onto a manager and that at their spa they only allocate one therapist for one to three people!! Quite frankly that’s just not good enough for the price of their treatments!

It is a lovely venue , let down by lack of food at the end . Cleanliness not quite up to scratch . Music too loud and badly chosen and intrusive in all areas .

I recently came to the dolphin spa as a Birthday gift with friends it was meant to be a luxurious pampering day.
However the Head Therapist which I'm unaware of her name she had a really unprofessional manner, very abrupt and rude. After having endured this it had spoiled my Birthday.

The Marrakech Ritual Spa Day was glorious. If you have never treated your self to a spa day before, and want some tranquil me-time and someone attentive and sensible to pay attention to all your rough bits and aches and pains, then this is for you. The spa itself feels luxurious without being overbearing, and you will leave feeling like a shiny, softly scented princess.

I really enjoyed my massage at the dolphin square spa.
The staff was lovely and helpful, showing around all the facilities and inviting me to relax before and after my treatment.
The Spa is clean and the treatment itself was very good!
I will definitely come back.

The spa is very beautiful, and you can feel like being somewhere else. The staff was very kind. There was though a bit of wait before the ritual but at least, it enables to be in a peace mood.

The massage was OK but a little overpriced. The staff knew it was a Wahanda booking (which are prepaid) but still demanded payment at the end of the treatment.

The massage was not as good as I expected. I asked for more intensive work on my back and I really didn't feel like I got this.

It was an amazing experience! The facilities and staff are great, very helpful and professional. Some of the facilities were closed at the time, so couldn't use it to the full but we were promised an upgrade next time we visit. I would recommend this place to everyone.

This was a xmas present to my mum. She came out absolutely glowing and said it was the best treatment she ever had! (This is alot coming from her as she is a frivolous pamperer!) In fact she was so impressed with the service and experience in general she made her friend go the following week. The result was identical, she was really happy and impressed and I'm very sure they both will be re booking in the future. Make sure you check your maps before you go as it was tricky to find apparently!

I am a regular visitor to the Dolphin Square spa. for the salt steam treatment. And always enjoy my visit.
However the steam room was not very hot. They have put it on a timer, and it didn't seem to warm up as usual.
However I really love to lie down in the Tepidarium for as long as possible! A curved heated stone bed. Wher you can wrap yourself in a towel and relax. And to be bought mint tea along with a small bowl of a huge date, apricot and nuts is a joy. Always return..
