I love this spa, visited for the first time last year and was looking for an excuse to return, Christmas present was it! The spa facilities - pool, jacuzzi, relaxation room and the changing rooms/showers are clean and spacious, the gym is well equipped too. The welcome was as warm as I remember and the treatments lovely. My only criticism is how difficult it is to get through on the phone to book the treatments - not only is it hard to get through, no-one called back when I left messages. Overall highly recommended.

It's a nice setting but if intending to use spa facilities before treatment you will need to take own towel and preferably a dressing gown as you have to leave changing rooms to go up to treatment rooms - difficult to do in wet costume!

Staff were lovely, however they were busy, so there was a lot of waiting for someone to see us.
The cafe had problems, so we couldn't eat anything, but one type of sandwich.
The relaxation room is right next to a sports studio and when we were in there, there was a judo lesson next door, so it wasn't very relaxing and sounded like a herd of elephants were about to come through the walls.
There is a picture of people relaxing in an alcove, however I was told that doesn't exist anymore and is used to store rubbish.
The massage was lovely and so were the staff, but overall it was a bit disappointing.
When I wrote to them to tell them, they didn't bother to reply to me.... which was nice.

They had no robes, what are you supposed to do at a Spa day with no robe, walk around naked? The staff were not very friendly either overall not good

Overall, and for the money it was a really nice day - it was a chance to catch up with friends I hadn't seen for 10 years.
The massage was fabulous. The sandwiches were lovely, the place was clean.
The only down sides would be there are only four loungers in the pool area, but it was quiet that day so not a problem. Also, they don't provide slippers ( which I'm sure I read somewhere that they did) so make sure you take flipflops or something - my friend had to go around in bare feet all day.
All in all it was very good value and a pleasant experience.

This was Lu & I's second visit in just over a month & we thoroughly enjoyed it once more. Lunch had been taken off this offer, but the staff there gave us a complimentary one anyway, fantastic, we are planning another one for August. An absolutely wonderful experience cannot fault anything!!!!

This was the best spa day my friend & I had ever experienced, EVERYTHING was to an extremely high standard and the staff could not have been more helpful....We have been to a few spa days together in Surrey but nothing compared to this, could not find a single fault ..... not even a tiny one & we both tried!!!!! Congratulations on a wonderful Spa. I would recommend to everyone,

My friend and I had a fantastic experience at The Thames Club & Spa. The staff was very friendly and helpful through out the whole visit. We were greated and shown around all the facilities. Our treatments were excellent, we had a facial as well as back, neck & shoulder massage each, both therapist were very nice and the ambience was great. The facilities such as the relaxation room and dinig area were very nice and we enjoyed being there.
After our treatments we were able to use the rest of the facilities such as the steam room and swimming pool until closing time and were free to roam between all the facilities.
Even though, the gym members were using the same facilitie as well as changing room and showers, it was not over crowded or in any way unpleasant.
All in all we had a great time and got our moneys worth. We would definitley go back and recommend it to others.

I was given this as a birthday pressent and was looking forward to going and relaxing. I found it a little hard to book my treatments via phone and when arrived I felt a litte forgotten about.
I went for a swim and had a facial that was AMAZING. My therapist Vicky was very frendly and talked me through all the products she used on me.
I was informed of a expansion that was 'opening soon' to the spa with a relax area.
I look forward to going back and enjoying the experience again

The gym equipment was up to date. We had to wait about 30 minutes in the gym to get a key to use most of the equipment - the only member of staff was giving personal lessons which we eventually had to interrupt. The swimming pool and changing rooms were well maintained and clean. Unfortunately the jacuzzi was out of order on this day. The spa was ok - the person greeting us did not look happy to be there. We booked to have a back, neck and shoulder massage and a facial in the couples room. The therapists were both pleasant but the younger therapist could not stop laughing during both treatments. During the facials, there was lots of whispering and secret hand signals between the therapists which I found unprofessional and un-nerving. The treatments were good but would have been better if the therapists had acted professionally - separate rooms definitely better. The cafe food was enjoyable. Reasonably priced with fair portions.

Staff very friendly. They spent adequate time at the start explaining the process and whether I wanted certain areas concentrated on. The massage lasted the full time and was exactly what i had asked for. After staff came back and explained what they had discovered during the massage and provided advice on what was found.
VERY GOOD, easy to find.

This wasn't the best looking spa I've been to, but the staff were friendly. The chocolate exfoliation treatment was very relaxing, but we couldn't smell the chocolate like we were hoping! The pool area was well maintained, and quite large, but we were just unfortunate to be there when half was being used for a mother and baby session. The jacuzzi was lovely and warm, and the sauna and steam room were also clean and very relaxing. We were there for about 4.5 hours and it was well worth the money (£50 for 2 people).

Do not go here if you are after a relaxing spa break! It is a gym with a salon - no more than that. I don't even know how it gets away with calling itself "Thames Club SPA" when the name outside it merely says "Thames Club". False advertising at its best. A nice enough swimming pool, sauna and steam room but that is it! And these spaces are shared with the gym users - on the day I went a whole bunch of noisy kids were using the pool and changing rooms at the same time - as you can imagine, not very relaxing and it meant we couldn't use the pool. The website is full of tosh, do not believe what it says - it is not serene and there are no places to relax, which even a basic (real) spa should provide. Customer service is poor, except for the restaurant staff. Before my visit I left countless messages and emails and none were responded to. I filled in a complaints card on the day, requesting the manager to contact me - I am yet to have a response. The therapists were disinterested and not particularly friendly or sincere. Restaurant staff were lovely though, and the food was nice.

If you want to go to a gym for the day, it's a nice enough place. However, if you want a relaxing spa day, avoid this place and look elsewhere!

You must have gone to a different Spa to me I had a wonderful visit and booked all treatments on the phone withy no problem at all. I suggest you pay another visit before and check out the relaxation room which was exactly as it said on the tin, you are either from another spa trying to cause trouble or mad!!"!

Well, considering I was successful in obtaining a refund from them for false advertising and misinformation, they clearly accepted the blame!

Maybe you should try a real spa so you have something to compare this gym to. Clearly you have low standards when it comes to such matters.

I suspect they gave you a refund to get rid of you they probably get people all the time trying to get something for nothing. I have been to many Spas mostly in Surrey & I have very high standards and can only comment on my experience!! I suggest you look at the other comments for this Spa and see that they are all positive so its only you who had a bad time, perhaps that says something about you???

Ok darling, calm down. Firstly not all the reviews are "positive"! Secondly, I too "can only comment on my experience"! If you think that a gym qualifies as a spa, and you find it relaxing to be surrounded by noisy children, rude staff and sweaty gym users, then fair play to you. Each to their own. I expect different things from my spa breaks. I haven't commented on your positive review; why does my negative review bother you so much?! We are all different and we all experience things differently. Live and let live and you'll find that you become a much happier person :-)

It was similar experience to visiting a David Lloyd's health & fitness centre. The gym equipment was great and the therapist was very friendly and polite, the massage overall was very good I just wish it was a little bit firmer. The overall experience was very nice and I would go back there again.
