Absolutely amazing experience bought for a friends birthday! Facilities and staff 5** however was slightly let down by members of the spa who were disrespectful to the spa and rude to us, unwanted attention and they were behaving like children using the water hose in on of the spa rooms to fight and not leaving us alone in the pool when we stated we wanted to be alone.
Great venue, mix up with timings on treatments though which left us hanging around instead of enjoying the facilities.
Booking was made a few days before, so only one time option for facial, which was not ideal. Booking confirmation was not clear, so emailed, Was then sent an alternative time for one of us, had to ring- it was a mistake. OTHERWISE!... Experience was good. Staff lovely and helpful, facilities good, and food in the bar cafe very nice. More than we normally pay at another spa, (where lunch is included in the price) but better facilities. Seemed more luxurious!
Two of us visited the Mere Spa on a weekday; although Treatwell offered a range of options, when our choices were pre-booked with the Mere the massage option (which would have been our preference) was not available and our choices were fairly restricted so we opted for a file and polish which were poorly done for both of us. The facials were good but seemed shorter than 25 minutes. However, the pool and thermal rooms are very good and the afternoon tea was better than expected. Booking through Treatwell was fine.
When we arrived at the spa and were shown to the changing rooms there were used towels literally everywhere. Not one single seat was free of one and the floor was covered. When we left a few hours later it was still the same. For the price of the mere I would expect nothing less than excellence.
