Being a busy mum, my friends and I try to squeeze in spa days as often as possible. Over the last few years we've tried quite a few but Solent hotel is by far our favourite venue! So many times hotel spas don't think about the 'relaxation' aspect of a spa day. They shove you in a corridor, in your bath robe, hair slick with oil, acne on display and expect you to be able to relax as the business man clatters past, running into your shins with his wheelie case....at the Solent they have a lovely relaxation area tucked away from the grind of the hotel, with plenty or beds/chairs, that looks out over a wood - it does get busy but it's rare that there isn't anywhere to sit in this area. You can also sit in the conservatory and round the pool so it never feels over run by spa goers.
My massage was incredible, I asked for a 'as hard as you can go' pressured massage, as I can't bear it when therapists tickle you....and she was true to her word! It was brutal, but every stress knot in my back disappeared for a few days after. I'd thoroughly recommend Solent Spa - money well spent.

We enjoyed our day but the service really let the place down. We were made to wait for 15 minutes before we were taken through to the spa area and given our orientation. Same problem at lunch- sat down only to be ignored by staff whilst they served other tables, two of which sat down after we arrived. Spa treatments were great just wish the service could have matched up to this.

Lovely spa, with gym and pool. Massage was lovely and I was asked if I wanted a relaxing or firm massage which was great. Lunch was fabulous, worth every penny. Unfortunately I wanted to buy some of the bath products but they didn't have the two options I wanted and the beautician doing my facial didn't seem to spend much time and I was finished within 20 minutes although my skin did look better, more moisturised the next day.

Took my mum here for a birthday present and we had a lovely day together, with afternoon tea. They were very kind and let me relax in the spa area with my mum even though only she was having treatments. Had previously been for a manicure which was great too.

Went as a group of 4, with friends. We all had a lovely time, staff friendly and efficient, facilities clean and relaxing, therapist and massage amazing! We went on the hen daze package and what we got was great value for money, all being mummy's we had a well needed very relaxing day to recharge our batteries, would recommend if your looking for a relaxing spa to enjoy with the girls.

On arrival i was informed that my treatment had not been booked in correctly, i was having the hot stone massage and not enough time had been allocated, this was very disappointing. The spa facilities were wonderful, very relaxing. The afternoon tea finger sandwiches were lacking and i wished i had gone for the lunch menu. The staff were very pleasent and did manage to fit in my full treatment. Overallwell worth the money, everything i wanted it to be!, and lovely hotel. Espa products lovely too.

I purchased this as a gift for a group of 3 women for a 50th birthday present and they had a fantastic time. The staff were friendly and helpful. The facilities clean and pleasant. There was a choice on the lunch menu and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend it.

The spa is lovely, very clean, and the service from everyone was excellent. We had a lovely relaxing time needed by all! . However, on booking the spa i found that it is hit and miss as to the helpfulness of the spa receptionists. The first time i rang, the receptionist was very unhelpful and disinterested. however, the next time i rang to actually book, the lady on the phone was great. However on the day, the staff were excellent, and the facilities great. The food was also really nice. Would definitely recommend and look forward to our next visit already bought (hen daze)!

It would have been nice if the tea/coffee area was cleaned and kept stocked.....no fresh fruit was available, well the two pieces of fruit that were in the bowl were off, no bisicuits etc had to wait to find someone available to refill jugs etc.

Staff need to make sure the quiet area is cleared of all dirty cups and glasses as many were left and we had to move ourselves before we could sit down and wet towels were left on the loungers.

Glasses for water etc were not very nice either.

Staff were very pleasant and better than our first visit.

We had a hot tub booked one hour before our treatments, but we had to ask after 15 minutes whether it was ready or not and then had to wait for someone to make sure it was ready.....hot tub was a little like pond water, not clear and a little dirty, a little disappointed as the first time we had visited the spa the hot tub was brilliant, a ring of dirt was around the tub.

Our visit included a two course lunch by the pool which was of an exceptional standard and a very nice experience, waitress very friendly and helpful. Five star rating for food and service

Went on a Thursday and had a great deal. Got there for 9ish and used the gym and pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. There is a relaxation room too to chill out in. Then we had a 2 course lunch which was lovely, really good food! All drinks are included too and there is plenty of choice in the spa, with biscuits and fruit which are also complimentary. Then we had our treatments after lunch. I had a body scrub and a head massage, and my therapist was lovely and really good. My boyfriend had a facial and massage and fell asleep so it was very relaxing for him! The therapists were really informative and the whole day was excellent and really good value for money (everything was £79 each). Would definitly return and recommend the experience to others.
