The spa itself was very small, at some points during the day the pool was overcrowded and you couldn't get a seat beside it. The treatments weren't anything to write home about and I have had far better at other spas unfortunately - especially when you consider the price. The main building is lovely but the spa itself is in the back of a parking lot in a quite regular ordinary building which was a massive let down. What was also disappointing was that you had to get dressed for lunch - in a conservatory - which had a very poor selection. The relation room at the spa was run down and not really relaxing at all. The whole day was about planning for the next treatment or planning for lunch there wasn't really much time to sit and unwind which was the whole aim of going. The pool itself - indoor and outdoor - was lovely.
Unfortunately the nail polish didn't dry even after 45 mins wait. I went back as two of the nails were stuck to my socks. The receptionist was ok but said the therapist had gone to lunch as I had travelled back from Daventry it was inconvenient. She patched them up by going over again with a gel topcoat. Unfortunately I had to take this off as it went all lumpy and I ended up redoing them myself at home so really a total waste of money. Perhaps they need to test the products out as during the winter no-one is going to go out in flip flops and after 45 mins nails should be dry enough.
A relatively good value for minute spa day in lovely surroundings booked last minute. Will defnitely go back again in the near future
Excellent location and lovely venue. Treatments first class and staff very helpful. Only downfall when arrived was offered a hot drink and was served in a chipped mug, and very poor lighting in the car park and my sister badly damaged her ankle on the way to her car by falling down a pothole. Apart from that the whole experience was very relaxing and next time will stay over in the hotel.
Restful and peaceful day.. Beautiful surroundings. Loved hydrotherapy pool and the fact it was outdoors. Treatments superb. Only slight niggle was that the slippers were too small a size for husband.
