Lovely place but the pool wasn’t available (too cold as we arrived after the Christmas break- the whole place was quite chilly, it was snowing!). We were given a 25min treatment for free to compensate, which was generous.
Then I was served the wrong meal at lunch (the kitchen made a mistake). I could have returned it and waited again for the correct meal to be put together but we were hungry and my mum was ready to eat.
Two unfortunate occurrences but the therapists were very good.
I enjoyed my day at the spa, especially the lunch- it was very well prepared and tasted great.
Spa facilities I felt were average and felt cramped.
We were very dissapponted that the steam room was out of order, showers in the pool area were cold and there were no electricity sockets in the female changing rooms to use personal hair styling tools.
Staff were helpful and friendly and I liked the relaxation area, however I don't know how much trouble it would have been for staff to replenish the hot water for tea and coffee. By early afternoon the water had turned cold.
Our treatments were enjoyable and relaxing up until the point where after receiving a facial I was pestered to purchase products from the spa.
I appreciate that the staff were only being helpful in offering skin care advice but I felt they were rather pushy and it took away some of the enjoyment for me.
Overall I did enjoy my spa day experience but not sure I would return anytime soon mainly down to a few small factors which I feel could have easily been avoided to make our day that bit more special.
We loved it all, turned out to be one of the best hotels and spa I have stayed at. Food and Breakfast was amazing. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our bedroom was beautiful and really big. It would of been better if they had more room around the pool for beds , but turned out they had a relaxation room upstairs. The only disappoint was the bed, it was really ferm so was a bit uncomfortable. But I will be defiantly be going back and have recommended the hotel to friends and family .
