Really lovely room- four poster- we had the recommendnight stay & it was excellent value with Dinner ,B&B & a full body massage for the two of us.
food was also great , staff helpful & would recommend a stay at the hotel.
only comment for improvement would be the shower as not powerful enough but a minor pojnt as overall stay was great.

Crowded, lack of lunch options. People stole our robes, which we put on chair whilst in pool. Very little space between pool and Jacuzzi. Lack of seats to accommodate those in the pool.

The spa was good, the massage was excellent. There was a good choice of facilities (jacuzzi, pool, steam room, sauna) but they were quite small for the numbers attending, with only four loungers to about twenty people.

The hotel food and restaurant service was excellent, but the room was poor - small and next to a noisy boiler room which disturbed our sleep.

Spa & massage was better than expected. Food was excellent. Asked for extra tea & coffee for room & this was provided immediately. Nothing was too much trouble. Room was immaculate. Will be going again.

Beautiful hotel, close to Darlington but with a rural setting. Restaurant had a good choice of dishes included in the cost of the stay. Would go back.

Throughly enjoyed my over night stay and use of facilities. My only downfall to the stay, in the package that we paid for it stated chilled bottle of wine and chocolates on arrival. We arrived and hours later still no wine and chocolate, so we asked reception where they were and they replied that we should of had them on arrival and that they would put them in our room . Later that night went back to room lovely bottle of prosecco but still waiting on the chocolates now. If both of these had been in my room on arrival then everything would of been tip top. I will stay there again and hopefully this time we get all that we paid for in the deal.

This was definitely better then I was expecting. I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the room and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious but the portion sizes for me were a little large. Would definitely recommend it and I will definitely going back again.

Nice place in a nice area, there wasn't much choice of food on the menu for lunch time. Some of the staff were kind and helpful whereas some were quite rude. The back massage was nice but the pool and gym facilities could be more up to date with the rest of the hotel . Overall I enjoyed it

Lovely place set in rural surrounding . Really enjoy my massage and spray tan . Some staff were very helpful , others no so accomadating . Lunch was very nice . I feel that the spa and leisure area was a need of updating as it was very dull and aged . Overall though had a really relaxing day .

I went with a few friends for a girls day out. We had a great time. Massage was lovely and the Sunday lunch was fantastic.

The spa was heaving, few places to sit around the pool so decided to give it a miss.
Back massage was relaxing, paid extra to have eyebrows waxed, unfortunately now they are uneven and I'm glad I have a long fringe!

Nice break. Was a little surprised that you had to walk outside to get to the swimming pool and spa complex as this wasn't made clear on the website - it was only about 3 minutes but it was freezing February weather! And don't trust the signs for where to go for your treatment on the outside of the buildings or you'll get very confused very easily. The only thing that really let the experience down was the breakfast. It was incredibly slow. We waited at least 40minutes for a pot of tea and toast (despite constant reminders) and a little longer for our cooked breakfast which admittedly was freshly cooked but the restaurant wasn't busy. Lots of other guests had the same experience and there seemed to be a random order to who got their tea/coffee and breakfast and when. Cannot fault the staff though they were lovely and very apologetic.

Excellent relaxing day. Massage very good. We decided not to swim this time, just to chill and gossip! Lunch was wonderful.
