As usual, fantastic treatment and fantastic service. The girls really know what they're doing.
Fantastic! I can't remember the name of the lovely lady that did my treatment but she was fantastic. Never had someone pay so much attention to detail - will definitely be back!
When arriving the venue is really nice in an easily accessible location. There is ample parking with an overflow car park also. I've never been to this spa before, when entering the receptionist was very friendly and directed me to where I needed to go. The treatment itself was really nice. The room was spacious, clean and had a nice atmosphere. The lady who was carrying out the treatment was very informative and overall the treatment was relaxing and left my skin feeling great. There was also a scalp and arm massage included which I wasn't aware of so this was a nice surprise. Overall I would highly recommend and would likely visit again in the future.
I received a 'Spa Day' voucher as a birthday present. I booked Ballantyne Spa originally in in Birmingham but after I read the reviews on line (which were not complimentary) so decided that Solihull would be a better idea. I haven't been to a spa day for some time and never on my own before. I found the spa with no problem and was pleased with my first impressions. Booking in was fairly straightforward and I was asked to take a seat and someone would come and tell me about the facilities. Someone came almost immediately. My 'induction consisted mainly of telling me where the gym and relaxation room was (up the stairs) and taking me to the changing rooms. I had decided my timetable and went to the gym first. I asked if anyone was 'on hand' to give me any advice as I hadn't been to a big gym for some time. I was assured there was. Well, the only staff I saw were personal trainers and they were working with clients. I used equipment which was familiar and was quite happy doing my thing. After an hour I made my way to the pool. I am not a strong swimmer we but I do like being in a pool. However I got there and there was a large, very loud aqua aerobics class underway. I made my way to the jacuzzi and watched the class who seemed to be having a great time. The pool was nice, right temperature and clean. I was due to go for my massage treatment at 3 pm so made sure I was ready in plenty of time. I had been told to take a seat outside the beauty spa when I had arrived o I did. I Checked in at the desk and was informed almost immediately that as I had upgraded my massaged I needed to pay for that first. I had to return to my locker to get my purse. This was all sorted and we went up to the massage room. When I got in I immediately noticed how cold the room was (room5) and commented on this. My masseuse Marie, went to get the controller to work the air conditioner. She clicked something and I settled down for a nice relaxing massage. Well that's what I hoped for anyway. I was still cold and asked Marie again to adjust the air conditioner, she fiddled with the controller again and I again settled down for my massage. I could not relax because I was so chilly and yet again commented on this. I was told 'well we have lots o blankets!)' I gave up trying to get any warmer and tried to concentrate on my massage. The massage itself was very good at the right pressure I requested. But it would have been a lot more enjoyable had I been warm enough. When I got up to leave the room at the end, I felt a distinct difference I temperature outside the room! I commented again how cold I was to Marie and her only response was to inform me that I could have 10% off any products I would like to purchase today! In fact the only time she really spoke to me was to try and sell me products! I declined! I went downstairs for a coffee purely to warm up! I had looked forward to my pamper day and I did only have a massage and facial, I can't comment on manicures/pedicures, But I really didn't feel pampered. I won't tell my children who bought me the voucher that I was disappointed but I rally don't think I will go to a Ballantyne Spa again.
Really friendly staff and a comfortable environment. Slight confusion over the payment as I had gone through Treatwell, but this was resolved. Would highly recommend.
