Really good choice - lovely hotel, DB&B and great Spa Day. Very relaxing, lovely staff - just wish we had been there4 fore 2 nights!!
Loved the hotel. Room lovely and food fab. However spa treatments total let down. I didn't even see my therapist as she came into room after I was already laid face down. Didn't enjoy the massage paid extra for upgrade but certainly not worth the bother. Scalp massage non existent just rubbed above my forehead for couple of mins didn't use hot oil?? No toilet facilities near spa rooms so directed outside then followed inside ladies to ask to pay for upgrade! Totally spoilt our 'spa break'
This is a really nice hotel a very short walk (literally 2 / 3 mins) from the town centre and nicest shops / bars and restaurants in Darlington. It's a short walk from the train station (about 10 mins) so is really well located. However, the spa isn't connected to the hotel, so I didn't have a spa break. You could walk there, or it's a short car journey away. The restaurant is great, and hotel's really good. Great if you're looking for an overnight break and fancy combining a nice hotel and restaurant with some shopping, or drink in a nice local bar.
