Had a relaxing time with my friend. The swimming pool, steam rooms, sauna and jacuzzi were nice ( bit too much chlorine in the jacuzzi ). The treatments were lovely and the staff. Thanks, great time, would go again x
The experience itself was lovely. The only downsides were that there are not enough loungers in the pool area given that people come to relax. There were about 6 in total. You need a lock for the lockers - bring one with you. I filled in a health questionnaire in advance and brought it with me. It was never transferred to the spa area so I had to complete another one which I thought was a bit shabby given that it contains personal data. Treatments lovely. Lunch nice. Would visit again.
I have been to the Barnsley Bannatyne's Spa a few times on different deals, and find the Spa good value for money, clean with good facilities. I usually go on a week day, and it is fairly quiet. This deal was no exception, I enjoyed my day out relaxing. The only thing I would say that the masseur gave me a massage that was a little too firm - despite asking her to ease off a little, she did to start off with, then seemed to get firmer again. I had opted for a full body massage, but asked to pay more attention to my back (as I get a lot of back pain) and not to massage my arms. However, I didn't feel that I got much extra back massage. However, despite that, I would go back again.
I took my mum for a back massage and use of the spa facilities. The spa itself was a bit like a leisure center but having said that, the Jacuzzi and sauna/relaxation room were lush. The massage topped it off though. You couldn't fault it and it really made the whole experience.
we went to the Barnsley spa a bit worried as i read the reviews after i had booked. this day was for my birthday when i got there the other half of our party had already arrived and had been told that the spa bags were £2 and then another lady over rode that and said that they were £3 we decided not to argue as it was my birthday and it just wasn't worth it. we got shown around and advised to book our lunch which we did. we all had a back and neck massage that we all loved along with a scalp massage that was lovely. i later arranged to squeeze in a 30 minute facial for just £15 they said i could have it as an upgrade which i wasn't advised about when i booked their central reservation line. this was a shame as we would of all have done this. the lunch was nice nothing special but it wasn't awful. we had free teas and coffees and the pool sauna steam and relaxation therapy room were lovely as was the jacuzzi. all in all we agreed that we had had a lovely day and we would book again. excellent value for money and the therapists were fantastic. so pleased we didn't go on the negative reviews (better value for money than titanic in my opinion!)
