Grand Hotel, Eastbourne part of Elite Hotels

Affectionately known as The White Palace, the hotel commands breathtaking views of the sea and the dramatic cliffs at Beachy Head.

Grand by name but not by nature, The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne is not only the only 5 star luxury hotel to be found on the British coastline, we’re also one of the friendliest. The Grand is a landmark on the Eastbourne seafront, where we have been looking after generations of returning happy families, and we often welcome back parents, who first stayed with us as youngsters, checking in with children or grandchildren of their own.

The Grand stands out amongst other Eastbourne hotels being only a short walk from the Pier in one direction, and the glorious Sussex downs in the other, so we are ideally located for exploring this charming corner of East Sussex. Few hotels offer such a complete range of leisure facilities including a luxury outdoor swimming pool, special holiday packages for children and a choice of dining options that includes arguably the finest gourmet restaurant on the entire south coast.

However, we believe it’s our unique blend of friendly service that’s just as important for bringing families, business people, young romantics and anniversary couples back to The Grand Hotel time and time again. Many of our staff have been with us for ten or twenty years or more. It’s as if they find The Grand just as hard to leave as our guests do.

I had a wonderful time at the Grand Hotel Eastbourne Spa. The staff is nice and always available for questions and requests. They give you towels a vest, and flip flops for free to use through the whole day.
The package included a full day of spa treatments (sauna, steam room, pool, jacuzzi and gym) plus a welcome drink and lunch. The place wasn't packed and there was space for everyone, which I really liked, besides everything was clean and relaxing. Food was great too (a lot of variety and healthy stuff) and overall I had a very different day that I enjoyed a lot. Would definitely do it again and also recommend it.

The staff were excellent and very friendly. The room was large and beds very comfy. The spa was quite crowded but good facilities. The only disappointment was the temperature of the hot tub which was luke warm.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Venue nice maybe abit overpriced as the lunch was not that great and no alcohol allowed for welcome drink which would be nice to add to the relaxing experience to have a glass of wine or Prosecco on arrival

Booked an overnight stay at this hotel for a romantic getaway with my partner on the 27/9/14. From arrival is was obvious why this hotel is called the grand as it's very grand indeed! The staff are so welcoming and friendly, nothing is to much trouble for them.
The food and drinks was top notch. The spa facilities was ok... Could do with a bigger pool really and a seperate kids pool would be nice. The outside pool was lovely and we got to give it a go seeibg it's heated and the weather was so lovely. As for the sauna I've no idea where that was. I booked seperate treatments for us both and they was spot on. My only real faults with the hotel are the bedrooms/suite need much better lighting. Getting ready for a night out was a nightmare when doing hair and make-up. Also the rooms was very stuffy/hot so again getting ready for a night out was no fun at all even with the windows/balcony door open. I'd booked a sea view suite which apart from the above was lovely. Seeing Id never used lastminute.com before I thought I'd be making a good saving but I worked out just over £400 a night for the suite was actually not far from the actual price! Although we had a fantastic weekend I definitly wouldn't be silly and spend that on one night again as its a lot of money for what it is really.

Fantastic hotel, cannot be beaten. Whirlpool jacuzzi was closed for the duration of our stay so disappointed with that, but overall excellent.

Had a great stay at The Grand. Staff were pleasant, helpful and efficient. Spa/Pool area is quite small and unfortunately if you're in there at the same time as children then there's very little chance of being able to chill and really enjoy the ambience. Noisy kids in a Spa is not a good combination.
Room was big and clean but views were obstructed by the roof which reduced the amount of light coming in.
Apart from that I have no complaints. I'd book again but go straight to the treatments and avoid the spa.
Massages were spot on and I came out feeling refreshed.
