After a few bad experiences with waxing i wasn't sure if i should continue waxing, i was recommended strip one new change by a friend and im SO glad i went! Not only has it dispelled my previous anti wax attitude, the beautician - i cant remember her name - was really understanding and chatty that i almost forgot where i was - half way through im usually running out the room trying to convince myself half off half on will catch on one day! i am pleased with the results and the aftercare recommendations, i would definitely return.

I've been to Strip Notting Hill and One new Change several times. I've never had any issues at the Notting Hill location but the One New Change service is awful and the wax qualities have not always been up to the price (it really depends on the beautician). For the price, one should think they make enough of a profit to train their staff in good client service. Last time I booked, the person who took my booking did not enter it into the system. I called three hours ahead for a same day treatment so I doubt I got anything wrong. I showed up at my appointment and, not only was I sent back without a treatment and the apology I got was more of a "get the f*** out of my face, if you really had booked an appointment you would be in our system. So basically lady, this f*** up is on you...". Guess who'se never getting any of my money again.

I was really keen to try Strip, as it's so well known and sounded amazing, so when I moved to London it was the first place I called for a wax. It wasn't easy to get an appointment, even calling a few days in advance, the Soho branch was full, so I managed to get the last appointment at the St Paul's branch on a Thursday night. I wasn't overly happy about paying in advance, but was willing to do it to secure the appointment.

The location is pretty good, it's close to the tube, and the One New Change centre is very sleek and modern. The boutique itself is nice, and the waxing rooms I saw were beautifully decorated. The staff were nice, and my therapist was lovely.

HOWEVER, I wasn't given a choice of waxes, which they do advertise as part of the service, and I was sad about this, as I wanted to try the famous chocolate one. The wax was extremely painless, but when I got home I realised they'd missed quite a lot of hairs and if I hadn't been heading away for a few days I'd have been tempted to go back and complain (yes, it was that bad!) After a week, I had way more regrowth than I'd usually have, which left me wondering exactly what I'd spent more than £50 on!

I really wanted to like Strip, and the salon promises a lot, but it didn't really deliver for me. At such a premium rate, I expect a premium service, but they seem to have mastered the polish without getting the basics right.
