I have been going here for many years and I always have Ian Denson do my hair. He is a spectacular hair consultant and my hair always looks fantastic when I leave. Not only that, I am able to manage my hair (ok not quite to the professional standard that Ian does it) and he always gives me tips to keep my hair looking good. I LOVE this Salon and I LOVE Ian he is the best hairdresser I have ever found. I would never go anywhere else for a hair cut too risky Ian knows my hair and I trust him completely and in the past 12 years he has never once let me down even when I asked him to create a new me (a combo of Lulu and Meg Ryan) he was spot on and it was manageable at home. I would give this salon 10/10

I was recommended Steven Carey by a friend who knows what she is talking about, and it all looked good for a while: I went in for a pre-colour consultation, where I was given a patch test and about twenty minutes of leafing through a booklet of celebrity hair colours they'd put together with a very friendly girl, who apparently wanted to get my look "just right" (a natural-looking half head of highlights and a blow dry). On the day of the appointment I got there on time and found out that the girl who I had, had my consultation with had overrun with another client, but there was another girl who would do my highlights. What followed was a woman who didn't even talk to me and spent about 10 minutes total foiling-up two sections of hair, either side of my face. I then waited while these two pieces of foil did their work (I thought maybe she's doing these sections first and will come back and do more later? Apparently not...) then TA DA! Tiger stripes! As she dried my hair, two brassy blonde highlights started to emerge either side of the central parting. I began to look more and more like Vicky Pollard, a sort of cheap-looking dirty blonde (I am a brunette.) Not only did it look awful, but there were no sign of any other highlights on the crown of my head (I should've guessed from the two pieces of tinfoil, but, "leave it to the professionals!" I had thought. Not a good idea.) By the time I could see the full extent of my chav transformation I told her that I didn't like it and that it didn't look to me like half a head of highlights. She said that that's what she was told to do and what was written in my consultation form. This was baffling, as unless the original colour consultant had just beamed down from space, we had, had very clear communication about what I wanted. The colourist who did my hair dithered and said she would go and find the original colourist with whom I had, had my consultation. An (apparently) extensive search of the building revealed that my initial consultant colourist was tied up and there was no-one to see me about what had originally been agreed. I asked whether it could be rectified, but apparently everyone was busy that day. But they still wanted their £200!

This wouldn't have been such a disaster if I wasn't getting married the weekend after the appointment (this was a Thursday, my wedding was on the Saturday.) Not wanting to return to receive more poor treatment at the hands of Steven Carey, I rushed to another salon who actually laughed when I came in and managed to "rescue" my hair for the wedding by putting some toner on. Since then I have had to go to this salon every two weeks, as with each hair wash, the toner wears off and those brassy chav curtains start shining through again. It costs me about £50 a time. I suppose I will have to do that until the roots grow to the tips and I can finally cut this awful experience out of my hair.

I visited this salon twice - once for a cut and highlights and once just for a cut. Colour technician missed a bit so not overly impressed but the cut was fantastic on both occasions. Miles - who, unfortunately is no longer there (anyone know where he has gone???), advised and took me out of my comfort zone with a new style but he knew what he was doing and I can honestly say I have never had so many compliments. Salon is ok but wouldn't go back unless Miles was there!

Location was good, Salon was ok, very busy place so obviously popular. I was a lot happier with my Pedicure than I was my manicure, care and time went into making my feet nice and smooth and looked really nice once painted. I felt nice and relaxed whilst my feet were soaking and being made nice and smooth.

I felt the manicure was over too quickly, considering it was supposed to be a luxury manicure it only took about 15 minutes. My nails looked nice at the end of the day but I paid for a Luxury Manicure, therefore I would expet a little more to be done than just have the cuticles pushed dont, nails filed and then painted. I was happy with the way my nails looked once painted but was just a little disappointed with the final product.

I went to Steven Carey for a blow dry for a wedding. The therapist was great, she listened to what I want and my hair came out perfectly. A friend also came with me and they accommodated her easily. She got a half up do which looked fantastic as well.

The salon is very conveniently located and offers good value deals for Central London. While it can get busy, the experience doers not feel rushed. The staff are friendly but professional and I would happily go back again.

I was really surprised with this salon, or shocked might be more appropriate word to be honest. I went to do half head highlights. The girl that did them was not very talkative, just quickly asked what I wanted and started working. After that she completey abandoned me (normally colour specialists check how the colouring process is going. but not here), a girl came to me and said we should go and wash it all out. I didn't have a blow dry, so it was a rough dry, which was the most ridiculous I've ever had, as not only most of the time the hairdryer was boiling hot, but also she had half dried my hair and said that's it. It was 5 C outside, I could get sick with wet hair. So I ended up taking hairdryer and finish drying my hair myself! Then finally my colour specialist re-appeared ot check if all was fine (normally this is done after the wash when they start drying yourr hair, not when you are all ready to go) and I said no, the colour of the high lights was super yellow, exactly what I asked not to have, so overall my hair looked worse than when I came in. Hence I asked this to be fixed, as she used wrong colours on me originally. She didn't even apologise and didn't try to be nice. They ended up using toner on me to fix it at least a little bit. It added extra 40 minutes to my visit and I had to dry my hair again. This time there was a guy doing that and he didn't use any comb or brush and he tried to leave my hair half wet as well! When I asked if he could at least brush my hair as it was complete mess, he said he is not allowed to use a brush on me since I don't have a blow dry! I just asked to comb/brush it so it doesn't look like I've just woken up.
And the other thing that really schoked me was the salon is quite expensive, but they charge for tea/coffee/water! And the prices are Starbucks level prices!
You can find many other salon where you get proper customer service, so my advice is to look for somewhere else.

The location and the facility of this venue are both lovely. The therapist had a good selection of the manicure and I loved having a brew throughout my treatment. I unfortunately don't remember the name of the therapist but she was such a nice person who didn't hesitate to answer all my questions. However since I'm now into gel mani/pedi I don't think I will be returning especially if I have to pay the full price. If I happen to visit this place again, I will be going with my opi drop dry in had because it took a very long time before I could walk without damaging my pedicure (there wasn't a fan or any other drying device). A place for those normal mani lovers.

I realise now they have the shellac treatment but I don't think it was available at the time of my visit. But looking at its price, I doubt I will ever be heading to this salon.

My visit was great, my stylist (Amy) could not have taken more care over every part of the treatment, and explained it all carefully. I was most impressed. The salon is in a great location and very friendly.

Staff seem a bit disorganised and not very welcoming. I went there for a haircut and blowdry and my therapist was running late with a previous client. They also seem a bit confused about the time of my appointment. I was left waiting for 40 min and when she came to cut my hair, it felt very rushed. The result was average. I've had better haircuts at places like Toni & Guy and Sean Hanna.

I had an excellent all round experience. It's a top-notch salon so you get first class customer care in great surroundings. My stylist was great, took the time to explain what she'd be doing and was very skilled, too. Great blow dry, really pleased and would highly recommend.

I had a luxury pedicure, and was seated amongst the clients getting their hair done. It wasn't too noisy though, as I went midweek when it was quiet. The girl doesn't talk much, but she gave me an absolutely perfect pedicure and I was very pleased. The girls are quite attentive, offering me water and magazines. i would return.

the haircut was very average and quick. i felt rushed and the hairdresser seemed not interested in what she was doing - "you only get what you pay for". i was glad that there were no major problems with the service but i did not feel comfortable or welcome and would not go back.

Amazing Keratin treatment, staff at reception was really friendly and welcoming.
My hair dresser - Amy was very very attentive and took her time. The guy that washed my hair was tugging my head a little and was a little tough on my head when massaging it though (a little painful for my liking)
A little miscommunication with my Wahanda voucher at the end as the lady couldnt find my voucher; made me stand there and wait for her to confirm before I was allowed to leave.....
Overall, amazing experience, in the heart of Regent Street, easy to find, definitely recommend this!

Really nice salon - huge size, very light, airy and open. The stylist who carried out my treatment was absolutely lovely, as was the young lady who washed my hair. I would definitely consider returning to the Steven Carey salon.

4 days ago i had the keratin treatment done at this salon (my first time) and i didnt want to write a review until i washed my hair to fully see the results. I followed the hairdressers tip and left it out for the entirety as well as bought the SLS shampoo. Im so glad i did. My hair now looks amazing and my styling time cut from 45 minutes to 10 minutes.

I have really frizzy & curly hair that is completely unmanageable unless i blow-dry and straighten with my ghd. My hairdresser has always recommended that my hair would especially benefit fromthe treatment but due to the cost i always brushed it off. I saw the deal that Steve Carey had so thought i should at least give it a go. I have no regrets and will definately get it done again.

My only negative was that i was not offered a drink upon my arrival and the lady that arrived 2 minutes after was obviously a regular and was offered one.

Another plus was that i didnt have a hard sell on their products. They recommended them but didnt put them in front of me to stare at. I ended up getting mine from Boots

You should be glad they didn't offer you a drink. The first time I went, I was offered a bottle of water - then when I paid at the end, I saw that they had added the cost of the water to the bill! In the end they removed it, because I wasn't told it wasn't free - I've never had to pay for tea/coffee/cakes/fruit at other hairdressers... I am now a regular at Steven Carey - but bring my own water!
