I read through quite a few reviews posted on Wahanda before booking this hotel, some was bad but quite a few were actually ok so… I thought I took the chance. Big Mistake! The day before we went I accidentally saw few more reviews posted on Tripadvisor about this place and all reviews were bad, very bad! Still, hoped for the best...unfortunately, apart from being located in the great seaside town and some rooms have amazing sea views, this place was exactly same as what the Tripadvisor viewers had described --- very bad! While the hotel itself is quite big, it was looking very, very tired, though my husband and I were given a sea view room (which I appreciated a lot as my husband loved it very much)and to be fair to the housekeeping staff, the room was very clean but still didn’t make up the fact that everything was looking very dated which including the 70’s style furniture and old carpet/ curtain etc! I dont normally critise small things...but the fact is our bathroom door was a little rotten, some broken tiles on the bathroom wall and the carpet really needs to be replaced to the level that i was relunctant to walk on bare feet. However, all staff were quite friendly and had big smile on all the time but just for some reasons, no one would initially tell you everything where about... like where was the spa located, the opening hour for breakfast, password for wifi in the room and door code for the gym and swimming pool etc. I know it was not a big thing and we could find it out ourselves anyway but I thought that being a spa hotel , staff seen very nice and clearly that was what we were there for--the spa, so why wouldnt they take the initiative to give us all information we needed to being with?!!! It would certainly make a huge difference and a good impression if we were being informed as soon as we checked in.
The meal--while we had so much expectation from the restaurant as we read some very good reviews, we were left completely disappointed as being located in seaside, there was hardly any seafood dishes on their menu. If it hadn’t already included in our package , we would rather go to a different restaurant that had more seafood options.
All in all, we thought this hotel was very overpriced for what we were getting , if you are a couple and looking for a relaxing weekend, please stay away from this hotel as this hotel takes on so many non- hotel guests members using the spa facilities, and there will be lot of children in the swimming pool and mothers in the changing room. (please don't expect those mothers will control their children's behaviors which i dont even want to go there!)
Besides the amazing sea view, there's one more good thing about this hotel was their masseur, her shoulders and back massage was impeccable, I forgot her name but she was excellent and professional.

This was the third Mecure hotel we tried in a year but left us completely disappointed. We will never visit this hotel group again.

The restaurant was very good and the staff attentive. We had not been before and the reception in the spa complex was not helpful. No information was volunteered.. for example there passcodes on the doors of the changing rooms..we had to ask for these. At the same time we were not tolx that towels would be supplied...a bit of an introduction to the facilities would have been welcome. The toilet bowl in the room was black at the bottom.

This hotel is lovely. A typical seaside hotel but with that little bit extra. It is not really a spa though it's more a hotel that just happens to have a couple of treatment rooms. The pool area is open to all so when we attended there were many children, although the jacuzzi and steam rooms are separate and only for over 16's it still wasn't exactly what we were expecting. The food however made up for any issues there may have been, it was an excellent meal accompanied by brilliant silver service. We both agreed that we would attend again just for the food. Overall this was an enjoyable stay.

Nice see view. Breakfast was really 5star. We loved the jacuzzi and sauna. The room was a bit dusty, and some refurbishment was going on, but was not really disturbing.

Had a room with a seaview and dispite the building works had a very pleasant stay. Had a foot treatment In the spa followed by afternoon tea out on the decking of the Kazbar. Wonderful. Walked in to Hythe for dinner very quiet considering the time of yr. Breakfast was included in the booking and did not disappoint. Everything you could have wanted was available with courteous staff. Definitely going again.

The surprise was that our room had been cancelled the day before by somebody!!! They offered us a suite as an apology which was very nice so what happened there. The stay was good as was the food and spa.

Good points. The staff were friendly and the food was great. Nice to be by the sea.
Poor points. Our room was very dusty (literally a cloud of dust puffed out from our duvets when going to bed), so both of us had a poor night's sleep plus felt very snuffly in the morning.

The spa was okay. They may wish to consider using scents in the sauna rooms. The treatments were shorter than advertised, but also nothing special. We had to fill out a huge form before our treatment with what we would like, and I asked for a quick massage on my arms due to having shoulder and arm pain. This was ignored and no mention of it from masseur. All in all, quite disappointing.

The hotel is lovely the staff were at hand for all our needs. The hotel is having work done at present but that didn't spoil the night away. The spa facility is great its in the basement of the hotel.

make sure you book in advance for any treatments, keep windows closed if you don't want pigeons in your room.
