Went to York Hall having booked one of the 'mob deal' offers available on Wahanda. A mixed bag for me - it's a reasonably priced venue with nice therapists.
It is quite easy to get to via public transport, and as someone else pointed out - while the outside doesn't look like much, the spa itself is really quite nice inside.
I was slightly early for my appointment, so the reception staff gave me a towel to sit on (those marble benches... coooold!) and a cup of tea which was nice and made the wait for the therapist very pleasant. The treatment room itself was quiet and nice - the heated tables are definitely a good idea for cold days. The therapist explained what the treatment would involve and it was all very pleasant - I had a back scrub, back mask and massage.
The one criticism that I have is that I don't know whether staff are familiar with the product lines they are offering - on arrival I handed in the 'mob-deal' voucher which specified 3 treatments totalling an hour. When I saw the clock after the therapist had left the room and told me to get dressed, the treatment had taken 40 minutes. When I went outside to check her next appointment had already arrived so that was it for me!
I had booked body wrap and flotation treatment for me and my 2 daughters.
I was dissappointed that the treatments were not after each others and we had to wait, even 1 hour in between.
Luckyly the manager was able to arrange earlier time.
This caused us stress because my parking time was running out and we had to hurry up.
I was told on the phone by the receptionist, our spa time would be 3 hours.
Not at any point was I advised the treatments were not followed up after each others.
A really affordable and fun day out. The Spa is in pretty good condition (despite its appearance from the outside) with lots of different areas to explore in the thermal baths area. Even my boyfriend (who had thought he would be bored) loved all the different rooms - from the freezing plunge pool to sauna, caledarium, steam room and relaxation room. We didn't have specific treatments this time as they will fully booked the week we booked, but a perfect way to spend three hours completely relaxing! would definately go back
