We choose this option as we thought i looked great value for the price- and it was! Since i live in london i was dubious about going to another city instead of a spa in the countryside but the hotel has a topical garden in a glass house which is accessed through the restaurant so this makes it feel less like a concrete jungle. The Hotel is in a newly built area of town, next to the Peace gardens and shopping centre. We got a free room upgrade as part of the offer and got free robe, slippers and toiletries and non alcoholic drinks. The room was modern, nicely furnished and very clean. My only gripe was the bed was very hard so i had bad pain all night - but my sister didnt have a problem ( apart from me waking her up alot). The free treatment was lovely, my therapist very experienced, friendly and helpful ( as were the hotel staff ) and spa facilities good. The colour relaxation room near the treatment area only had 6 loungers so could get crowded at the weekend, but we were fine on the friday. the pool had loungers as well. The free evening meal was from a set menu of 4 choices and was nicely cooked. I asked for more gravy and the staff were very obliging. There is a cocktail bar where you can have light snacks as well and we got our free strawberry belini. It would have been nice for some music or entertainment in the evening as we were relaxed after our treatments but felt we should go out after the meal as it was early. You could find pubs and bars withing 15 mins walk. Breakfast was excellent - very wide range to choose from. We appreciated the 1200 late checkout and staff let us keep our luggage until 5pm. I would highly recommend both the hotel and spa.
I went on the Spa day with my daughter as a birthday treat. When we arrived the receptionist seemed unclear as to what was covered by the voucher and I thought we were going to be charged for the towels and robes until I pointed out the small print on the confirmation e mail! We enjoyed the pool, sauna, steam room and especially the treatments which were excellent. We also enjoyed the relaxation/quiet room although it wasn't huge. The downside was that the refreshments which were supposed to be available were nowhere to be seen and I also had to go looking for someone to get teabags/sugar as there were none to be found.. It should surely be someone's responsibilityy to make sure supplies for drinks and snacks are kept topped up! We also had to dress again to go for lunch as it was in the bar of the hotel. Lunch was a choice from certain items on the bar menu plus a soft drink. We chose a club sandwich which was fine and paid extra for fries. We had the cocktail in the same bar at the end of the day which was very nice but again I had to go and ask at reception as I don't think we would have got it otherwise! Enjoyed the day but the organisation could have been better.
It was absolutely amazing. I bought 2 vouchers to take my mum along and we both enjoyed every moment. We even stayed longer and bought afternoon tea. Everyone there was fantastic and the whole experience wasbetter than we expected. I've raved to everyone and would highly recommend it. I loved the treatments and we weren't even badgered to buy the products used. Will definitely do this again.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel - we had a fantastic stay! The rooms were large, clean and spacious and the breakfast was delicious! The hotel is in a brilliant location - easy to walk to all the local places of interest and the bar is attached to the Winter Gardens which is lovely. The swimming pool and spa are fantastic. We particularly loved the array of saunas. The only slight negative is that my mother-in-law wanted a number of specific treatments, but the spa was fully booked. This, however, was our fault as we should have booked in advance. So, my advice would be to book your treatments in advance, to avoid disappointment. All in all a brilliant stay and top marks!
our stay at the Mecure was absolutely great. The service we received from wahanda in booking this and from the staff at the hotel was superb – this was for my birthday and it was one of the best yet! I have just one comment – when the offer was advertised it stated that there was a Jacuzzi and unfortunately when we arrived we found out this was not the case. It was a bit disappointing as we were all looking forward to it. There was also no robe for the spa. Other than that we had a great time.
