Excellent facilities in the top Crerar spa and hotel in our opinion. The pool was warm and the jacuzzi hot.The steak and chips with rocket and tomatoes was superb although the mushroom pie was average with melted cheddar topping.Could no fault the staff who were pleasant and friendly.

The water in both the jacuzzi and the pool was at the perfect temperature as was the spa building.Staff were excellent and the food was very well cooked and extremely tasty. My only small concern is that the menu has not changed for ages.

The dine side was excellent and we enjoyed the Steak and ale very much...slow cooked with flaky pastry and well done vegetables. The spa was not very warm and both the jacuzzi and pool were cold. The lady who joined us in the jacuzzi as the pool was very cold commented on the less than pleasant experience. The attendant went off o check the boiler as we went to lunch.

I feel sorry for the lady who operates the spa as her great service, knowledge and treatments where let down by the overall hotel experience. Over 30 minutes to check-in as the receptionist was on the phone and a young man in a white shirt just walked around taking no notice of us waiting. Limited restaurant reservation times and when we did finally get seated we had to wait over 15 minutes for menus and a further 10 minutes before a drinks request was taken. At dinner on the second night there was a hair inside the scotch egg. Breakfast was passable but with the same slow and unattentive service. Room overlooked a service yard and some very noisy compressors during the day. Upon check-out I was informed that wahanda only take an authorisation and not payment so was charged for the whole stay again, as this did not sit right with me I checked my statement to see I had indeed now paid over £600 for this two night stay as I had been charged twice. It took 6 phone calls and 3 days for the hotel to even acknowledge their error and agree to refund just the stay with not even an apology offered on the voicemail informing me of the refund. Tips: book treatments and restaurant reservations early, pay on a creditcard and check your statements.

We were amazed and delighted by our recent spa break at the Golf View Nairn. The facilities are great, the staff excellent and it was fantastic value for money. As advised, we booked our treatments some time ahead which meant we could choose our times to suit. The set dinner menu in the hotel was so inventive and of such high quality that we had no need to look at the alternatives. We certainly hope to be able to repeat the experience before too long.
